If there was a LemmyCoin I would love to own a few. I haven't heard of any lemmecoin though. Also, friend, I think you posted in the wrong section as this is the Bitcoin Discussion thread and you will need to move to the altcoins section.

it's not actually a coin itself. It is an exchange. You can find it if you search google. I don't want to post the link in case they are a scam.

they already temporarily closed due to covid-19 and some other issue better leave this and never deposit any funds because they are in market but have no solid revivew and you can lost your funds sometime back another user was also here with same question but we have no solid infomation about this so please stay away and stay safe is better option.

Havent heard out this exchange before and i did tend to make up some search and i cant find any information about it aside on accessing the site itself. They dont have ANN thread on this forum and there are no other reviews about this platform which would really be enough for me to stay away or wont tend nor try to make any deposits on this site. Since you had mentioned that you do see some red flags then that would already be sufficient for you to stay away if you dont like to experience possible problems later on. The site isnt an exchange imho but rather talks about cryptocurrency investment which i do presume that they do handle out customers funds. This doesnt have any FAQ and doesnt show necessary information that do connects out into their legitimacy.

An article written 5 days ago actually described Lemmecoin as a derivatives exchange. [1] So it is still an exchange, although not the common spot exchange that we are probably more familiar of and trade but one which probably exclusively offers Bitcoin derivative products such as Bitcoin futures and options. Anyway, OP, if you found "some red flags" then you better choose other options. More popular and trusted exchanges such as Huobi, Binance, Okex, Deribit, and so on are also offering Bitcoin derivatives. There are hundreds of new coins coming from airdrop, giveaways and bounty campaign, what's so special on the coin and what it can offer to the community, if it's a pump and dump coin let us just forget there's been a lot of pump and ump coin in the market already, if there are red flags then it don't look legit, you cannot be legit and have red flags.

Did you just receive a notification from them directly on discord without doing anything? someone has tagged or used your username and sent it to them for you to receive a notification? is this what happened?
First comes first that whenever you're in doubt, don't do it.
I'm not familiar with the exchange and if I receive a message out of nowhere, I'll just ignore it.

Thanks all for the reply. So for some more detail;
The sent a message in Discord saying I had won .67 bitcoin. I registered at the site with a burner email/name etc and entered the code. Sure enough the bitcoin appeared in the "wallet" on the site. Of course I went to immediately withdraw the bitcoin to another wallet that I trust. An error came up saying that due to some EU law they had to require me to deposit .03 bitcoin in order to access the coin. Obviously this is a red flag. Most of what I've initially described is a red flag in my opinion. Thing is, if it is a scam, it's well done. The site is well made, they have what looks like a chat and active community, but are lacking in other information like contact etc. I did try to contact them but haven't received a response. The fact that I can find so little information on something that claims to have been around for a bit is also odd.

This is clearly scam and good thing you not send them any funds because these are very organise in these things and try to have something very quickly a good lesson for you and many others those are reading this now hopefully they will also check things before falling in any scam like this.

I have never heard of these exchanges, but usually good exchanges never offer themselves through any notification, because they are always open to everyone, not just for one or two people, but judging by the name, it's not like an exchange, but the token name is not yet popular.

Free stuff is always a scam in the crypto sphere. Always avoid these kinds of offers as they are created to lure retail investors like you to indulge your investments. These offers are on the rise as Bitcoin pumps and I am sure there will be a lot of shitcoins that will launch as soon as Bitcoin reaches a new ATH.

If you can't find a good review and they do not have an official thread then better forget this exchange, it's not worth it, according to their homepage Established in 2013 as the first cloud mining provider, Lemmecoin has become a multi-functional cryptocurrency exchange, trusted by over a million users. They been here since 2013 but why I have not read anything about them, they boost that they are trusted by millions, so many people here are not included in that millions.

I don't use the exchange because it's not that popular but I've heard about the exchange before, the last update I heard about the exchange was about offices closing down in different locations because of COV19, that's was on November 24, still I recommend going for top exchanges

It is a classic fraud technique, which has been implemented by different fake exchanges. It requires the user to deposit an amount to accumulate the reward. Usually, with such an approach, oblivious and credulous people are the potential victims. Remember, it can’t be considered as a reward if it asks you something in return, especially money. You should consider the red flags you have noticed as a basis of your decision. Therefore, you should not make any transaction in that exchange, seeing that they provide insufficient information

*First, whether Lemmecoin is a coin or an exchange, it is very confusing... I am hearing lemmecoin for the first time from you, if it is a coin from an exchange then you have to be careful with that exchange because they may just use the exchange as an attraction to attract investors to buy their coins.

Eu também recebi esse "prêmio". Fiz um cadastro com email que uso pouco, tudo muito simples. A "exchange" é toda meio fake. Acredito que até o chat seja fake. Me pediram 0,03 btc para "liberar" meu prêmio. Eu falei que só tinha 0,000001 BTC e era o suficiente para "validar" os endereços, lol

It is strange that the network does not even mention this exchange? This is most likely another attempt to deceive scammers, you should stay away from such dubious projects.
