Hence, the apps published in the play store can’t be trusted, as the rating and reviews can be easily fake. The proliferation of fake wallet apps has been a big problem ever since, as some well-known wallets are involved. Thus, we should check the app carefully before downloading it. Also, it is better if we initially look at the website itself to be sure that we will place our funds in a legitimate wallet. Regardless, we should just report the app to avoid people getting victimize.

I read a lot of fake projects report here in the forum especially coming from playstore/android I really don't think the playstore review the application first before releasing it. Good thing there were some concern crypto users who warns others.

Well I often see this report on forums, it means that many people take the time to do research on applications that are on the Playstore, Google should do a more rigorous review, don't just damage the reputation of cryptos, which are mistaken for dark accusations like money laundering other therefore with the many fake wallet applications it is very important for everyone who keeps reporting it here so everyone knows how to choose a real application instead of a wrong choice can be patal.

There are many types of illegal apps and ads that can be seen on Google, and some people do such things by bypassing Google's rules. This has made Google dangerous for ordinary users. So now using Google for wallet search would not be a good way at all.

Some crypto users are doing research to find out these fake apps which is really very good work.

It's obvious that Google doesn't care much what apps are going to be approved and available on their store. And that's the difference between them and Apple, which is very strict thats' why we seldom hear any malicious apps getting into their apps store. So everyone should really do our due diligence when trying to download apps in Play store specially with regards to crypto wallets as we don't want to be the next victim by these criminals.

They do but they don't check whether the app is cloned or not. And they never check whether the app is vulnerable. Upon some reports, they manually remove the app from play store.

I doubt that they do analysis specially with regards to crypto wallet in playstore. I mean the sheer amount of fake apps in their platform is stunning to say the least.

And then we have so many crypto noobs who don't check anything, they will just download without any verification. So I would say that both is to blame. But as crypto users, we wouldn't be a victim if we will just investigate, or to not really trust anything on playstore.
