We need more old support for old cards that still have 3-4GB.
no miner have old support besides claymore and he seem to have dissapeared for next update.
keep t he good work!!!

Who still use such grapy card to mine this days? even if the latest miners support such graphic cards it won't change anything, they have old architectures and can't keep up with today's graphics card, sorry pal you need to sell off such cards and buy latest cards

Don't stress yourself, you can still mine Ethereum Classic with those cards, ETC team have find a way to support low end graphics card on its modified daggerhashimoto algorithm, it's now called ETChash, it supports from 3gb gpu memory and it's quite profitable

i've been reading that, but most of softwares still don't support old cards. 600 series are not supported. and as you say , any old gfx could work if support is enabled, there are plenty of old cheap cards whit 2-3gb ram, stacking bunch at low electricity billl is a good entry level .

Ethminer has cuda 8 support, but what old cards have 3 or 4 gb and only cuda 8? And why so aggressive? I think you are newbie, because those old cards need to much electricity, but maybe you can convince me otherwise.

Try to get the new ETChash miner through Ethereum Classic website or github link, I've used an old graphics card hd6990 with 4gb memory to give a try and it solves blocks, this is a old AMD card that stop working for Ethereum miner few years back, try the modified ETChash

This is true as long as power cost is affordable....but it must be worth the miner devs time ie...enough cards hashing to make it profitable for devs time they will not waste their time working on it. Every dev has to answer that for themselves.

Why stop at CUDA 7.5? I just compiled a version of ccminer for my GT 640 with compute capability 3.0 with CUDA 6.5 and it is now mining Digibyte :-) Not for profit, just for fun. The poor thing doesnt even have a fan so will see if I dare to leave it alone for a day..

Fellow miners, get your thens and thans in order and help other forum readers understand what you are writing. Remember the grammar basics: B larger THAN A (comparator operator). If something THEN ....

No need for old Cuda, Cuda 11 can compile for compute 3.5 (3.0 needs Cuda <= 10) as long as the miner is compatible.

I think it's you who doesn't get it. Old GPUs means old algos and old software that is still available.
If you want support for new algos on od GPUs you can forget it. It won't happen because most new GPU algos need more than 4 GB of VRAM and developpers aren't interested in back porting for old hardware that's approaching obsolescence. Even if it did happen it still wouldn't need an old version of Cuda.
The problem has nothing to do with the Cuda version.

I think the new modified ETC algorithm supports new gpu only, I could remember the gtx1060 3gb and gtx1050 3gb, I think this is the exact cards that will be supported, gtx1050ti probably have 3gb version too but I'm not sure, if you want to mine Ethash you can't go down than this

You still don't get it, there are new coins coming out all the time, you are only thinking about developed coins. ::faceslap::

You are mixing things up yourself, 4GB of VRAM is still sufficient for any algorithm except Ethereum algorithm, if a new coin comes out with Ethash Algorithm those which 4GB cards can still mine them, presently 4GB cards are enough for RandomX Algorithm, Cryptonight algorithm, ProgPow algorithm, etc

keep t he good work!!!
All graphics cards running on cuda 7.5 and 8 are old, they stop receiving mining software upgrades because they aren't Profitable for mining anymore, even the high end HD7990 that do 36MH when mining Ethereum is not Profitable again due to electricity costs, it will take 1$ for power cost per day, as you can see all profits goes to electricity bills

You can only make profit if you have free electricity, I won't even call it profit, have it at the back of your mind that you are making money selling electricity, that isn't mining to me, not even those R9 295 can do a thing today, they can only be used for video gaming or graphic designer and editing, stop wasting your time and sell your old gpus to buy new ones

Old CUDA 7.5 and 8 GPUs can still mine cryptonight algorithm, Ethash Algorithm, RandomX Algorithm and many others but the problem is excess current draw, the HD7990 can do 30mh just like RX580 and gtx1660 super but that HD7990 can draw over 300watts for mining at 30MH while RX580 and gtx 1660super it draws 70watts to 120watts

Don't bother mining with such cards because they are completely obsolete by now, it's better to let go cos no new mining software will update their miner for CUDA7. 5 or 8, they are old and not Profitable anymore, even nicehash abandoned them already
