I think that being scammed by a scammer has nothing to do with your trust and belief in Bitcoin.
It's just like when you are scammed by a fiat money scammer and after that you say "I don't believe in my national currency anymore!" Sounds ridiculous,right.
I was scammed with 100 USD worth of Bitcoins back in May 2020,but I didn't lose my trust in Bitcoin,just because some scammer stole my Bitcoins.

Your story highlights one interesting fact - a first negative experience can often make people quit for good, and in crypto negative experiences are waiting around every corner - scams, hacks, understanding difficulties, accidental loss of funds, etc. This is one of the reasons why adoption is slow - not only some people quit crypto after trying, they probably share their story with friends and discourage them from entering crypto too.

Getting scammed in Bitcoin or even in fiat is normal these days, especially now that we're in the middle of pandemic. I've also been scammed the first time I was trying to have a Bitcoin to test it out if it's really legit. The person that I was trying to buy bitcoin at blocked me after I sent him the payment, I was shocked but luckily it was a small amount of money and my friend guided me to somewhere it's safe to buy Bitcoin.

Just like you, I'm a bitcoin enthusiast since that time. Bitcoin changed my life since then and for its lifetime I believe.

Almost every cryptocurrency user who get into the cryptomarket without knowing much about bitcoin will easily get scammed. Everyone who take it a learning have benefitted out of it in the long term, whereas the one losing hope misses the opportunity as well as spreads negativity. When we handle technology based investment it is one's own responsibility to secure the holdings and investments.

There are tons newbie are got scammed easily these days, greedy and trusting unknown people are the most cases.

You need to be sincere and learn from your mistake. Bitcoin in bullish season now, you'd need be more careful if you want to start holding now... it could be back on 2017-2018 (when Bitcoin reach new ATH and dump to $3,000-$4,000).

If it's because of pump and dump scheme (not manipulated), that's not a scam.

We need more people like this, believing in the potential despite the adversaries that fester the crypto world. I did have my doubts back then but at the same time those doubts about criminal activities perpetrated through cryptocurrency piqued my interest and from there and then the rabbit hole of crypto world is where I am right now and I am happy that I was curious back then.

To OP, I hope that the scams in the past made a valuable lesson about not letting your guard down and at the same time being open-minded to the ideas that may come your way and ask for your assistance.

Unfortunately that is one of the reasons why so many people do not want to invest in Crypto currencies. There are so many scams out there that are linked to Bitcoin and this is stalling adoption, because for every 1 person that are scammed..10 to 20 people connected to that person is totally influenced negatively by the ripple affect of that scam. (word of mouth influence)

I had several guys at work that invested in some Ponzi Scheme linked to Bitcoin payments and when this collapsed, none of them wanted to touch anything linked to Bitcoin again. (That was after I warned them at least 100 times, not to invest in that)

Now everything is clear especially when you look at the current price of BTC in the market. those who hold their BTC from the beginning have now earned so much and those who bought from last year's bearish market have now got some decent amount of income because of the sudden surge of the price in the market. I wonder if it's gonna hit some new ATH these upcoming last days of the year and I also wonder how long do investors can hold their BTC with this tempting price in the market today.

Many people have also been afraid and negative towards crypto due to scam projects. However, it is good that you can still learn and continue investing your money with cryptocurrencies, even you are very unlucky with your first investment in cryptocurrencies that you end up getting scammed. I assume you have been able to earn a considerable amount of profit during the bull run so that you might recover all of your losses from your scam investment.

Often happened that those believer come from bitcoin fortune.
I mean they did not mean serious but as time goes by the price increased a lot , they did not expect that and it turns them into believer.
The way you do to become a bitcoin believer are because of looking for this fortune isnt it?big lie if people doesnt care about gain.

Scam is not the fault of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. It's the fault of shitcoin creators or just people luring others into various schemes. So I'm glad that you're not keeping a grudge against cryptos because of that bad experience from the past. However, hodling should be done if you truly think Bitcoin will rise a lot in the future and if that's what is most important to you. I think there are many hodlers here, but in my opinion, Bitcoin is not for hodling and capital gains. To me, believing in Bitcoin's future is not about hopes it will cost $100k or something, but about it being more used and recognized as a medium of exchange.

I think everyone here have been scammed one way or another, specially if you are really a noob and knows nothing. I was scammed by this bitcoin doubler way back 2017. But since then, I've gained enough experience and promise myself not to be con by this criminals. So sometimes you really need to go to that bad experience to gain valuable lessons.

We sometimes face problems, and encountering scammers is not new since there's already a lot of scammers out there. But getting scammed doesn't mean it will always be bad for you here, you just have to learn from that lesson to avoid the same mistake. It's nice to hear that even with that bad experience of yours before, you did not close the door for bitcoin and still decided to believe in bitcoin.
