What is the use of sharing your PGP fingerprint or Keys on Bitcointalk?

I have trouble understanding PGP. If I want to share some of my PGP information shit in my Bitcointalk signature in what way can I share it? if I share my publc key what is it even going to be used for? And If I share my Fingerprint what is the use of sharing some of your PGP info in your BitcoinTalk signature?

Most of the veteran members who are specifically involved in activities like Escrow Service, Currency Exchange, Signature Campaign, etc which involve transfer of huge amounts of money sign the address with PGP which can be verified using their respective PGP/GPG Public Keys.

I believe with the quote you should be able to know that PGP signature is for the authenticity of a person you are dealing with that it is not another person.

You should either share the fingerprint or use an online database[1] to store your PGP public key.

With the public key, people can encrypt messages to prevent third party from snooping with your information. The public key will allow people to import it into their own PGP WOT and be able to validate your messages when you use it.

The fingerprint is like a hash of your public key. It'll be useful for people to validate your identity when the public key is too long.

It is for identifying yourself on any site, not just bitcointalk, where it is important that people know they are talking to the real you. You do this by means of signing a PGP message. Though communication (email in particular) with encrypted messages is also sometimes used. But signing is the main purpose.

For example, let's suppose you are the maintainer of an important Linux (or Windows!) package. It is necessary to make a PGP signature from any emails or forum accounts you interact with others with to prove you are not an imposter who put malware in the package.

There are so many social media sites and forums on the internet, and bitcointalk is just one of them, so there are so many ways to contact you. How can someone verify that they are talking to the real you, since anybody can register a username that is similar or even identical to another one you use? This is the reason why people sign PGP messages (the signed message also contains the fingerprint, so you know who signed it).
