Yes I did. Now 3 of them have died this year alone due to various degenerative illnesses that are impossible to be reversed according to the vets. The latest one is the dog that I can't stand losing, because I loved her so much and I always cuddle her when I wanna relieve myself from stress.
Sorry for your loss, OP, but think of this of a positive opportunity.
You get to go rescue an abandoned and possibly abused dog from a shelter!
Don't compare him/her to the old one - just love it and soon you'll be cuddling it and relieving stress again.
I still have a couple of male shih tzu/maltese dogs that are now old, in which they may be following Suting (despite that they're older than her). One is overweight and the other one is "kinda blind" because well, dog fight. However, we did adopt a new female shih tzu/maltese for me to cuddle and another guard dog. But Suting will always be one of my favorites to cuddle and play, and it breaks my heart to see her gone now. I'm gonna miss her cute barks inside the house, especially when she's hungry (she always asks for bread lol). But life must goes on, and I have no choice but to move forward and think something positive.
I also have five cats (I rescued one abandoned cat and she's beautiful). I still have a lot to cuddle but I will never forget my moments with Suting. At least she lasted for more than a decade and joined her Creator for eternal life.
