Most of the cryptocurrency users haven't even heard about Polkadot. And the OP is claiming that it is going to kill Ethereum. The biggest strength for Ethereum is not its technology. On the other hand, its biggest plus point is its acceptability. Even now, more than 90% of the new tokens are being created in the ERC-20 platform. None of the other platforms can even come close.

How, you have thoughts about Polkadot (DOT) can compete with Ethereum what else kills Ethereum, this is very AFAIK and your mind is too narrow in assessing Polkadot coins with Ethereum.
very far, if you want to say the comparison of Polkadot and Ethereum, also in terms of price and Total Supply are also very different from both and also developments in the market.
It doesn't come to mind that Polkadot can compete with Ethereum if you compare EOS with Polkadot, maybe, yes they have competition in the market.

even I, just realized that there is a coin called polka dots. well, I don't know what business this coin is in, but its position is currently rank 9 in CMC. Even so, I think there is still a long way to go for this coin to replace Ethereum's position. in fact, for coins that are close to ethereum, it is still quite difficult to replace ethereum's current position. Are you sure that the function of polka-dots can exceed people's needs for ethereum ? Personally, I don't think polkadot will replace ethereum for now.

The ethereum community is too big so it is difficult for Polkadot to compete with ethereum. There have been many projects that have been tried but in the end ethereum is still the best. Maybe in terms of features Polkadot can be said to be able to beat ethereum, but in terms of fans and the amount of support ethereum is still unbeatable. until whenever Polkadot can only be an alternative choice, and will not be number one.

Very well said. Ethereum is a big name in Crypto space and Polka dot will not replace it in a month or two, it will take time but the progress it has made during the past months is very impressive. Its supply is not unlimited like Ethereum and its network has better features. The main utility of Ethereum network is to create smart contracts but Gas and transactions fees have increased exponentially during the past months. This is one of the reasons Polka dot is attracting new businesses.

You are absolutely right that it wont be easy to beat Ethereum as it is a big name in crypto industry. We all know that Nokia was a big name in Cell phones Industry 10 years ago and now nobody talks about it. We are living in a very  competitive environment where fittest will survive. Polka dot is offering same  what Ethereum offers ( Create smart contracts) but at very low cost. The exponential growth in Gas and transaction fees on Ethereum network are forcing customers to find another alternative. Business is all about cost of doing Business and quality of product. Polka dot network has better features at competitive price so obviously it will attract customers.

When Tron, Neo, Eos came many people said that they will replace eth very soon. BTC is the father of cryptocurrency and ETH is the mother of all cryptocurrency. Other projects can co-exist but can not replace each other so easily. Polkadot and eth both networks are developing and evolving so they will co-exist too. If eth dev stops developing that project only then the ETH network will be replaced by some other project In the future which is not so easily going to happen.

Well said. You are absolutely right. Ethereum is a big name( 2nd after BTC )in Crypto space and most of alt coins including DEFIs have been created on Ethereum Network.
Polkadot is exactly doing what Ethereum network does if not better. but at a lower cost. From investment point of view Polka dot has potential to go 10 to 20X so obviously  it is a good buy at current price to make huge gain in future.

Actually OP is referring to possibility of polkadot overtaking Ethereum in future due to its scalability claims and other purported improved features, however I really like your points here. Ethereum's acceptability and already existing projects building on its blockchain is far ahead of any other altcoin. Ethereum developers keep coming up with innovation, hence I doubt if polkadot will be an ETH killer even in future. So many supposed "Ethereum killers" have gone extinct lol, time will tell if DOT has what it takes.

That means polkadot really have to work hard in convincing the crypto space to shift away from the over congested ethereum network to their own because despite eth net is over clogged many developers still prefer to use it than rest of the blockchain available that are much better and less congested, eth already taken the lead, i don't think polk can do much to kill it

May be,i say just may be,not just Polkadot claim it is ETH killer, i remember there are a lot of coins is once called the ETH terminator，but where are they now？Actually, I'm pretty optimistic about DOT， i recall i was ever sad for several days when i knew i cant join in the ico of DOT.
Anyway， i wish it could replace ETH a day in the future，i believe competition in progress.

Why does it have to kill ETH? Wasn't Ethereum already killed by Tezos, EOS, Cardano etc.  What I want to say is that there were so many projects already that were called "ETH-Killer". Still Ethereum is still the most widely used platform, has a huge developer community and is adopted the most.

Polkadot is a new project that will be launched in 2020, the future is also not clearly visible,
for investors the most important thing is ROI, Polkadot's ROI has increased by 65%,

I don't think so because ETH is the first smart contract platform, which means you can't go against them, maybe the successor will have better development but that won't change that ETH is the main thing about smart contract.
there is no one will know what will happen to polkadot and ETH in future, but i assume ETH still lead than other altcoin.
