Is Polkadot going to Kill Ethereum?

until now i see there is no altcoins going to kill ethereum, even the rising start in crypto world called polkadot
i like this coin, but i never think this coin will kill ethereum my friend

Polka dot is an open-source project that works with shared protocol that enables Blockchain Networks to work with Synergy. The token serves three distinct purposes; Governance, Staking and Bonding. This is designed to co-exist with Leading smart contract Blockchains rather than competing with them. This is very appealing factor for some Investors. It won't be easy for the Polka dot to challenge Ethereum as many working projects are already using Ethereum Network even though Technically it is superior project but  It is already Home of 197 projects those are working on its networks  and many more willing to join it.

This is also evident from price movement that we have witnessed during the past month when its price moved from $2 to almost $6 that reflects great interest of Investors in this token. There are some predictions that within a year time , Dot will be Top 3 on Market cap.

One of the main person behind polka dot is the former perhaps co-founder of ethereum so im sure he is not here to kill other projects because he must know how the market works, i do regard polkadot as an innovative and advanced project but it will not be able to kill ethereum though it is an outstanding addition in the market.

Sorry for interfering, but I fully support Polkadot. Compared to Ethereum, DOT has excellent tokenomics and the value of the token is immediately explicable by means of lock for parachains. As for ETH, the only thing coins are needed for is to transfer funds.

Please do not compare with Grandfather and Grandson, everybody knows about ETH growth value, on the other side Polkadot just started their journey last month, obviously, DOT is a profitable coin, maybe Polkadot will be on the rise in the future but ETH already leading in cryptomarket. I think it's quite impossible for Polkadot  to kill Ethereum within short period.

Yes, a very correct remark, but the main thing in tokenomics, because it is tokenomics that gives value to the PolkaDot coin. Therefore, it is necessary to talk about tokenomics.

The possibility is always there but ETH is just too huge now compared to the coin behind it, for now XRP is next to ETH with only $18 billion marketcap while ETH already at $150 billion.

Per record in CMC, DOT has only $14 billion, so it's just less than 10% of ETH's marketcap, it's a tough battle if it aim to kill Ethereum.

That's right, I think that it will only be in vain because right now, Ethereum is still in second place,
what is certain is that if there is a coin that is trending up it is not necessary to predict that it will overturn ethereum,
because it is absolutely impossible to be able to shift ethereum,

They aren't same thing and Ethereum is even older, Polkadot have good utilities too and I do hope they keep doing there best, Ethereum have a big place in our developers heart and I don't think that's ever going to change soon, if truly Polkadot is going to defeat Ethereum it's not going to be easy

Their use case is almost similar to each other but there is no doubt that Ethereum is very popular coin and holds its Rank#2 on coinmarketcap since long time because of its edge to launch earlier. eth has strong team continuously developing their platform and so with the other platforms. however, the difference is how popular it is in the crypto community. thousands of projects are based on eth network, though not many are working or functional, still it would take time for polkadot to attract projects to be built under their network.
right now, not many people know how to create project under DOT. remember, in eth, there are even tutorials on how to create your own smart contract in one hour. so let's see how practical it is to build project under DOT. let us hope this will not be another breeding ground for scammers..lol but right now, dot is not going to kill eth.. still far from happening

I doubt that DOT would simply overcome ETH. Even though we see Polkadot rising and climbing up the rankings, its just too far from Ethereum. Volumes on exchanges are far too huge of a distance. But props to DOT for making it this far ahead in the competition.

Big people have big plans for using Ethereum for their big goals. And Polkadot will take a very long time to at least come close to Ethereum in terms of cost. Nevertheless, the Dot coin gives great hopes and shows good dynamics and development, which is liked by many investors.

I thought, there is a possibility for blockchain technology to emerge and become the Ethereum killer, but the question is how likely is that? Polkadot, another coin might be a threat to Ethereum but I don't think that's happening anytime soon. Parathread and Polka Bridges which makes sophisticated than Ethereum. If they can implement their functions and work properly will gain popularity that can be concern for Ethereum.

Polkadot will never be able to compete against Ethereum, because it doesn't have a solid ecosystem of dApps and tokens behind it. The reason why Ethereum is still the leader is because most projects are built on it. Besides that, the ETH blockchain is one of the most decentralized ones in the world today. No matter how many features a project has, it'll never be able to compete with Ethereum if it's missing two key elements: mainstream adoption, and decentralization. The DOT token's sudden rise is largely attributed to the "De-Fi" craze which began since the COVID-19 pandemic took the world by storm. It could all be over once the hype comes to an end. I believe that Polkadot will end up like many other ETH competitors in the long run, unable to overcome Ethereum in market cap and mainstream adoption. Who knows what will happen in a few years from now?

Nonetheless, I still believe Polkadot is a good project. It might be able to stand the test of time if developers, and the community support it every step of the way. Your opinion is very nice and balanced  opinion, indeed. The beauty of Polka dot network is its Multi-chain network that makes transaction speed faster and less costly. Its clients and community are growing with every coming day. It has shown massive growth during the past month and continues to grow.. Its current price is around 31$ and Technically, it is  in uptrend. Some technical analysts predicting its price in 3 digits. You never know what tomorrow brings for you. Crytpo space always comes with surprise.
