Is Polkadot going to Kill Ethereum?

Polkadot is a good competitor for ETH. However, currently BNB is in the spotlight to replace ETH if Ethereum 2.0 will not solve the high gas fees which is one of the main reasons why most investors are avoiding ethereum platforms. Some projects have switched to the different platform due to its high fees. ADA, BNB, DOT has a lot of potentials, ETH will soon lose its spot if they don't fix the high gas fees.

It's not designed to be an Ethereum killer. Gavin Wood himself stated that Polkadot is designed to work in parallel and be complimentary to ethereum and co-exist with each others.

Exactly. Polkadot was never meant to be a replacement of Ethereum. Eventually, people will realize that it's not about fast transaction confirmation times or cheap fees. It's all about decentralization and censorship-resistance for applications to run as intended leaving the middleman out of the system. As I've said many times, no other smart contract platform can outmatch Ethereum in terms of security, reliability, and censorship-resistance. Decentralization is what distinguishes Ethereum from the rest of its competitors on the market. Don't get me wrong though, Polkadot is a very good project with huge potential of making crypto land a better place. It's just that Ethereum has an unbeatable ecosystem of dApps, tokens, and services behind it. Most developers build on ETH, because of its widespread community support in the mainstream world. Other platforms are fairly new to the scene and widely untested for serious applications.

Nonetheless, I believe that Polkadot will become another "nail in the coffin". Just like EOS was once hailed to be the "Ethereum Killer" but eventually failed, the same thing will happen with Polkadot, Binance Smart Chain, and others. But who knows? In crypto land, anything can happen. The odds of replacing Ethereum are very slim. But if it does happen, expect many mainstream crypto projects to switch from ETH to DOT leaving the former in the dust. Just my thoughts

I feel happy amd proud that market is coming up with quality solutions just like polka dot last year and it was highly needed because it aims to solve all the inefficacies and hurdles in the market that were kind of a hurdle in the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies likewise all other cryptocoins are also working on their blockchains to meet the high future demands so hopefully this year will be remembered as the year of crypto adoption and boom.

Out of all these coins, I believe that Cardano (ADA) is the most technically advanced one. The developers are working hard to resolve various issues, and they have been successful to a certain extent. Ethereum is a second generation cryptocurrency, and it will become obsolete within the next few years, and will be replaced by various third generation cryptos. The extremely high fee will make sure that the shift occurs soon.

At most polka might just become an alternative to ETH and not replace it entirely, the competition for top crypto is really tough and as you've seen despite BNB having its own momentum and performs really good they still sometimes gets taken over by other altcoin let alone killing ETH.
It seems the #1 and #2 position almost always belong to BTC and ETH tbh, the gaps of market cap too wide.

I think that it is necessary to evaluate competitive projects for Ethereum not according to current indicators, but according to their capabilities in the future. Polkadot, Cardano, BNB are very promising projects, with powerful capabilities and a solid base. They all have the potential to catch up with Ethereum in terms of technical performance.

But you need to remember that the Ethereum team is also strong enough to prevent the collapse of ETH. And now it is still very early to draw any conclusions. It seems to me that none of the listed coins have a goal to kill ETH.

The possibility is always there but I think it is too early for DOT in this market. ETH has been the go-to of a lot of projects for years. And once ETH team deployed their phase 1 of eth 2.0, things may change for the better. We will see their performance this year if their developments has improvement on their gas efficiencies. Because if gas fee is not addressed this year, more than likely people will really go to other networks like DOT or BSC.

but should be realistic with things here. yes, polkadot is a very promising platform, but their services is not yet proven to be adopted by so many projects. lets talk when even half of the number of projects are going to dot and not in eth platform.
i just remember, a lot of coins wanted to kill BTC. but who was killed first?

I don't think Ethereum will become replaced by another smart contract platform in the future. The team is working hard on the Ethereum project delivering innovation as usual. It's just that ETH is advancing at a slow and steady pace in order to remain as secure, stable, and decentralized as possible. Things will become better for ETH once the 2.0 upgrade goes full speed ahead. Polkadot, Cardano, and Binance Smart Chain won't be able to compete with Ethereum, since they lack mainstream adoption. Ethereum has the largest share of dApps and tokens on the industry, even with high fees and slow transaction confirmation times in play. It's hard to imagine Polkadot replacing Ethereum anytime soon.

Nonetheless, it's best for Polkadot and other projects to work together in order to make crypto land a better place. They complement Ethereum when the network becomes extremely congested. ETH is and will always be the "King of Smart Contracts" no matter what. Polkadot is a good project but it doesn't come near as close as Ethereum in terms of security/reliability and mainstream adoption. Time will tell us whenever Polkadot will last for long or fade into oblivion as a failed experiment. I'm sure it'll do fine in the long run as it's backed by prominent developers in the industry. Said it right! but most are just for hyping another project, they are bringing known project and try to speculate.

Nothing has been proven yet in terms of surpassing the success of ETH, though there's certain venue that Dot can get some more attentions than

other projects, but likewise, lets talk when there's already proof that the project do the best.

I don't think Polkadot will kill Ethereum. Although Polkadot has gained a lot of popularity in a short period of time, there is still a long way to go to kill Ethereum. And until then it will survive or disappear, only time will tell.
Ethereum, on the other hand, has been tested for many years. People trust this coin so much. When ethereum's new technology ETH 2.0 fully launched, I think it will go one step further.

At first I believe that there is no altcoins can kill ethereum but with the problem of the gas fee of ethereum right now I changed my mind. Possible there is an altcoins that can kill ethereum if this gas fee is still high in the future. Maybe polkadot or cardano these are strongly competes of ethereum.

polkadot team had amazing job lately and very strong competitor, that's for sure . competition is always beneficial. Also, bsc network is trying to compete ethereum. When the 2.0 update launches, ethereum will show it's power and will keep the leadership.

More than a year and the famed team is not able to sort the issues on what they started and they are forced to change everything and experiment once again and see how it will go and since you mentioned many alternative coins that have superior technology in my opinion i am expecting those to come to the forefront in the future if the misery of ETH continues.

This is probably why Polkadot supporters often use the phrase "Ethereum killer" to describe Polkadot.
There are only little issues with Polkadot, a lot of people still have trouble understanding Polkadot but the Polkadot team seems to care less about the user experience than it should be, given the complexity of the project.

Dot is not a copy of ethereum like Binance Smart Chain, but it is a blockchain with exceptional compatibility with other blockchains.  That's a typical feature that could explode this year.  The defi trend has helped Dot become flexible and easily capture billions of basic user systems in the market.

It is too early to predict what the future holds as we have seen many projects coming up but one thing i can give to ETH is the adoption and the number of supporters they have and with all the transaction issues they are facing for years only a handful of projects shifted to other platforms and if majority of project developers plan on shifting to other platforms like we saw with the recent swap of Binance Smart Chain you never know as Cardano is technically a superior project but they are yet to attract big projects and so is the case with many other similar platforms.
