It's been a while since I join campaigns I was deciding to widen up my source of income since I am now in college and learn a few kinds of stuff that I can use relating to a project that is advertised mostly here and on other social media platforms plus I got online classes so my work is smooth.

I was thinking of creating a profile showing up my name and face and where I can show samples of my work but I am afraid to because many people really into making projects and turn it into a scam and may use my face or profile.

My question

Do you think it's okay to create a profile not showing my real Identity just a name? and just my few works will the client trust me? A website with only my name and a few works/ skills that I am good at.

Do I need to show my face and real name when it comes to offering services? (not just doing those campaigns).

Follow up question to the people Who did jobs like coding (many more not just coding)

for working with the client's projects did you show your real Identity? or is it okay that not to show? and any suggestions for a newbie who will offer more services Smiley.

There are always some risks with anything you put out there so you should probably go with a pseudonym while not showing your face.

Do you think it's okay to create a profile not showing my real Identity just a name? and just my few works will the client trust me? A website with only my name and a few works/ skills that I am good at.
Why not? Real clients are after skills, not after a pretty/handsome face with awesome names attached to them Wink

Do I need to show my face and real name when it comes to offering services? (not just doing those campaigns).
You might want to mention what kind of services you'll be offering but for the most part, "NO", you don't need to provide those things.

for working with the client's projects did you show your real Identity? or is it okay that not to show? and any suggestions for a newbie who will offer more services Smiley.
I've worked with a lot of clients in this forum and none of them know my real identity.

I believe this thread is better suited for the "Beginners & Help" board.

I suggest not to do it men since if you show your public profile the scammers will provably use that for their illegal activities, just provide your portfolio if you have on what task have you been down since credentials are more better and convincing rather than posting your personal profile here.

So create a spreadsheet or anything where you can put your past work then show it to your potential clients since for sure legit clients will not ask your profile since the one they ask first is if  your skilled enough to do the job.

Well, if you have a unique or specific surname, you can easily build a brand around it, why not. some names are a direct association to something. what first comes to mind when you hear Vitalik Buterin or Jamie Oliver?
in my opinion, it is even better than being part of an agency team, where your picture with your real name would be placed. If you use any social network with tour real name, you are no longer anonymous. What's more, you've already given a lot of information.
As no name service provider, you always must show your previous work, to prove the skill again. In the end, it doesn’t raise the value of your work.

If you are planning to get an online job with the field that you are good at (coding), better be sure to separate yourself from being here in an anonymous forum and in the real world -- simply by separating your works that is personally made and works that are published in this forum. You can still be trusted here by simply doing good deeds to others by staying private as long as you could meet the client's standards and do your tasks accordingly. Also, it is real that many would have doubts hiring an anonymous developer, but it is better than risking your full identity here, in which many could make use for either thefts or find a way to hack you and do hideous things just because of knowing you.

Keep your privacy intact. You are a developer, a huge prone to possible identity theft. There's still a better feeling of being anonymous than being a famous.

The important thing when you want to offer a services is not your face or names, but it based on your skills and portfolio. So you're only need skills and portfolio in order to get a client interested hiring you to work. You don't need to show your real name or real face, just use a pseudonym or fictitious name. Just like Bitcoin, satoshi aren't showing his real face to make people trusting Bitcoin.

Nope, I never show my real identity on internet... it's privacy threat and could potentially targeted by $5 wrench attacks.

Well, a job is a job in every industry. A profile is a must for applying those jobs (even in crypto related ones) But maybe there's a company who will not ask your identity. But if you really want to not disclose your identity. It is optional to your employer as well as the company youre applying to.

I share my identity, but I am from the age where anonymous character assassination wasn't possible on the scale today.  Today one bad actor can post anything on sites that allow it, and other bad actors can keep referring to it on the other sites.

My club is going to identify you by crypto address - no KYC.  If "Jaycee99" has been identity compromised in any way, don't associate this forum profile in my club.  If you are also interested in some paid work now, contact me.

Yes (that's what I do).

To me, in crypto, faces mean nothing. ICOs used to show a bunch of faces, usually fake, but all of them used almost exactly the same format. Trusting them was generally a bad idea, and many people lost money to those scammers.

My reputation on Bitcointalk has nothing to do with my face. I like it that way.

I think it`s not necessary to tell and show your own identity to become popular worker and become demanded a lot, because even the most popular example is Satoshi Nakamoto didn`t show his face, we don`t know who is he, but he made a lot fol all of us. If you are working good people will know about you anyway.

Think of it as a success rate. If we want to evaluate the things that will make the project succeed, the developer takes 15% and the developer’s identity may not represent more than 20% of that 15%, so the percentage is small and not likely.
If you want to increase your success rate, add your photo, but remember, your success rate will not increase significantly.

Try to add your name + logo, make it a meaningful image and use it on all social media, and then you can appear in one of the live shows or do a live broadcast in order to answer your question.

@gmaxwell @achow101 will be a good example.

If you want to have a job here in cryptocurrency better not to reveal yourself since that most of the community who stayed here remain anonymous anyway. Because, one of this example is the Bounty Manager, Translator, and others are all anonymous and didn't reveal themselves actually.
