In WWI, Germany invaded France.   France said sacre bleu!, and built the Maginot Line.  Not looking ahead.
Now their aircraft carrier is being replaced at a cost of seven billion dollars and 18 years.  lol

They launch it, suddenly their radar picks up 50 smaller ships approaching.  All available pilots scramble and launch!  Each small ship launches an equal number of drones.  With no pilots on board, they are cheaper, faster and better in the air.   Many pilots are destroyed before they take off.

This is not a terrorist attack.   This is just a militant country that spent its budget wisely.

(btw, since I am half French so I am not racist, just disappointed.)

because they have no government anymore since 1789, since then they have rule by the populist mob, which is nothing but a prolongation of the violent mob from the colonies (US democrats) if there is no social unrest, they wont get any changes, and if they need to do changes they need foreigners to pay for it, if france would not be in the EU it would be a third world country, each single eastern european country is more worth than france with its woke population and its french population that stopped being religious.

macron tries to turn that around but that will cost again a lot of money.

in my daily euro coin payments is see unlegitmately often french euros, and much less often eastern european euros and thats a big issue.

They are too busy striking  Grin

It is a country with a huge amount of bureaucracy. At first glance this may make it seem surprising that it is among the most important economies in the world but in my opinion it is because of the relationship it has with its former colonies, which some call françafrique.

They allowed a Goldman Sachs banker to be elected as president, so their planning is designed to integrate them into the supra national empire run by the banking elite. Both WW1 and WW2 were bankers wars and part of the long term plans leading to globalisation.

france is not a intectual power house.
their innovations of nuclear power are due to deals with china to build land-power stations in UK under the french EDF banner.
yep china makes the nuclear stations but EDF then own the property.

with things like the physical structure of a aircraft carrier, that will take technologies made from america.

france cannot plan ahead much because they themselves dont have the expertise to innovate. they have to take other countries existing technologies and hire/buy/lease expertise from other countries.

as for the military decision making, france is not forward thinking or very assertive. their actions at the calais border seems lax. they let immigrants pass through it. and with brexit instead of prepping for the changes of inspections of UK goods entering europe they simply want to ASK UK to keep their own goods at the UK border and only let UK goods enter europe if all the paperwork is double checked at the UK end.

france have not prepared for brexit even though they should have asked EU to give them some guideance and funding to allow the EU to inspect UK goods because thats what the EU asked to happen.

..
i feel that france wont be a military power house. they will just lease out their aircraft carriers as 'hotels for planes' for countries like UK/US to land on. pretty much just used as a refueling station for other western countries aircraft

Aircraft carriers aren't dead, yet. India recently launched one, so does China and the US Navy has a plan, too.
I agree they're difficult to protect, but the services they can provide are so great, that armies still want them. There are some faraway missions which couldn't be done without them.

seven billion dollars and 18 years

We are getting a sparkly new aircraft carrier! That someone in the future will have to pay for.

It's not just France, it's everyone. Modern politics is all about short-termism. Soundbites not policies. What looks good today rather than what is good tomorrow. This is partly due to sensationalist media coverage and partly due to elections coming around every few years, bringing new people into power. Governments want to look good right now, in order to maintain their support; they are disincentivised from doing something that might be costly right now but reap huge rewards in five or ten years' time... because whoever is in power at that future time will doubtless take all the credit, whilst condemning their 'fiscally irresponsible' predecessors who actually initiated the beneficial change.

Not sure what the answer is. You'd think that maybe the situation would get worse and worse until it reached the level of absurdity, at which point it would all collapse and we'd start again with a more responsible approach to governing... but arguably we are well past the point of absurdity already.

Why was the Maginot line a bad thing? It actually held of Germany, the problem was not building it, the problem was not compelting it until the Channel. The initial planning for the Maginot line was to go up until the coast, but then got cancelled as it was expected for Britian to hold Belgium. Germany never actually pushed the Marginont line.

Ah this really does strike the nail on the head about the short term thoughts of our current political structure. People don't even know what the long term effects of decisions will have, nor do they even care, short term benefit has taken over pretty much every facet of our lives.

Stock market returns? The shareholders DEMAND short term growth over long term sustainable growth.

Government Policies? The people DEMAND action now, even if that action will hurt them in the long run.

People like flashy headline grabbing stuff, that's just how people work sadly. Why in gods name does France need a nuclear aircraft carrier that'll cost a ton of money? Nobody knows, it's just something that countries do.

Could there be an argument about global influence and this aircraft carrier? I guess, but is France going to be peddling this thing around the world threatening countries to work with them or be attacked? Who the hell knows.

The military industrial complex is happy though. But at this point saying that is just like saying the sky is blue.

I not agree with your this statement because Japan is not Christian country and they are very powerful in economy and many other examples like this China is also not Christian country and they are very powerful in military and economically its not all about religion its need some good policies and strong infrastructure then this all happened French authoroties never been good and focused so they are facing these problems.

well it was influenced by colonial domminance to be quite christian,

the same is accounting for china, and india today, if colonial influence fades away, these countries will enter a demographic collapse (sodom and gomorrah) and start declining

there will be no chinese rise, like many idiotic leftists politicians think, china is about to demographically decline. without colonial influence it would have never become what it is today. (1.5 billion people economy)
