Electrum Wallet - not enough funds

I am new in this things of wallet and bitcoins.
I created a wallet with Electrum version 4.0.5 and transferred 0.001 btc to it as proof. In the history it appears as paid and has more than 5000 confirmations .

I check the address where I received the coin and the balance is there.
In the "Receive" tab, The transaction indicate paid.

When I want to spend the balance, It does not matter what amount to send, I put it to pay from this address and in the Directions tab, complete the data to where I want to send the balance in the Send Tab. I have more than $ 15, but it indicates "not enough funds" and I cannot pay the transaction. Surely I need to do something, I ask you if can tell me where I am wrong. Thank you

I presume you used the "Spend from" function. If you've done it correctly, the bottom should have a green line with "Coin Control active: X output available". Go to Send tab and put whichever address you have and fill up the fields.

Is the bubble at the bottom right green? Are you sure you're using BTC/mBTC correctly?

Are you attempting to send the entire 0.001 BTC?

You need to remember to allow an amount for the transaction/miner fee... if your total balance is 0.001 BTC, you will NOT be able to send exactly 0.001 BTC. Like this example, you cannot send the entire balance, you get "Not Enough Funds":



Instead, if you want to send the entire balance... click the "max" button rather than trying to enter the amount yourself:



Electrum will then automatically adjust the amount to be sent based on the fee that you choose when you click "Pay":

I read your post, but i con´t send the bitcoin.

- I use the "Spent from" function
- when I go to the Send tab and complete all,, when I press the Max button the amount apear is "0"
- I switch BTC to mBTC, the same
- I reset the "Spent from" function
- Always 0 amount
- When I press Pay button, because the amount is empty or 0 I can´t do nothing
- I update to 4.0.7.....the same, nothing
- I fill the amount manualy, I put 5 $....nothing
- I fill the amount manualy, Then press de Max button, then the amount reset to 0


Always appear the "Not Enough Funds" Message

I think that the key of the problem is the 2FA.
That's a different, 3rd party service that imho brings you no benefit and which costs money.

Edit: I also found a link with the fees; with default settings I think that you'll pay 0.0025BTC for this service (and it covers the next 100 transactions).

So your best choice is to learn how to re-create your wallet without 2FA.

Glad you have got it working.

Although you have it working now, you should not use this wallet long term. The reason for this is a little complicated, but essentially, since you enabled 2FA when you first set it up it is now known as a "multisig" wallet. By restoring it and disabling 2FA, instead of the two signatures required coming one from you and one from the 2FA third party for a fee, they are now both coming from you. This means you can spend your coins without paying the 2FA fee (as you have discovered), but it also means that every transaction you make uses two signatures instead of one. In essence, this means that although you will notice no difference in using your wallet, every transaction you make will be larger than a standard wallet and therefore charge you higher fees and/or take longer to confirm.

Moving forward, the best thing to do is to create a brand new wallet from scratch in Electrum. In the set up wizard, select Standard wallet -> Create a new wallet -> choose Segwit or Legacy (Segwit is also better for lower fees) -> write down your seed phrase on paper, confirm your seed phrase, and set a password. Once you have done that, you can either just spend from your current wallet until it is empty and then start using your new wallet, or you can send everything from your current wallet across to your new wallet.
