I don't think that a web gambling website has something to earn by faking this number. It could only make them look bad in the eyes of people if they found out. And it's not even that hard to do so. Being provably fair sounds more importand to me.

It has point if they want to look trustworthtly to get more users and therefore more money or scam users of money.

Looking at the traffic for some of these sites according to Alexa and other sources, the number of bets for some sites is a little questionable.

look more closly. been there for 2 weeks now. you should get LOGO spot ad whenyour ranked. out of top 100, 30 sites have logos already. dont be left behind

i thought about alexa but out of the 140 sites only abourt 10 of them are under 100,000. the rest are in the millons.  and motyhly and weekly stats are coming. plus blog with have 10-15 posts a day starting later this week

I think that sorting by $$$ wagered is more meaningful than by number of bets though.
