Pornhub now accepting Monero

A year and a bit after Verge bought its way onto Pornhub and not sure how many months after Tron bought its way onto Pornhub it finally happened. Visa stopped offering its services to Pornhub, so they were forced to seriously looking into cryptocurrencies and finally add Monero as a payment option.  I will not be surprised if after a year Monero become most used payment option on Pornhub. Why would people want their neighbours know they use Pornhub?

I'm not sure it's so much related to Visa or it's a happy coincidence, but Monero was an obvious choice that was missing from the list.

Maybe some customers think that paying with Bitcoin is fine since not many know yet about Bitcoin, but I hope that they'll think twice and understand that in a few years it's be easy (it's already easy in many cases) to make a "map" of everything a person has bought with Bitcoin, including PonrnHub subscription and maybe they understand the real value of Monero.

I really have a big question between the settlement of USDT TRC20 and Monero. I feel that using USDT is still stable and better than XMR, since the price is not volatile and transactions always have fee of 0.

USDT - TRC20 has great block handling speed and in addition it is fee free in transactions. As for using XMR, we run the risk of having to sell off after buying or incurring high transaction fees. So why should we choose XMR and celebrate it like that? Does a privacy coin have a special function than Tether?

I really thought they were just accepting 3 cryptocurrency but based on the image that you provided they have a lot of varieties of cryptocurrency to choose from. Looks like that they are expending their mode of payment.

No doubt, Monero was the most needed privacy coin for such private tx but there is different kind of analysis which may soon identify the monero tx also.

Why would monero become most used when there are other crypto especially the bitcoin. I know the reason why you said that was because of the full anonymity that monero offer but I strongly believe only people that knows the difference in anonymity with other crypto that might consider it. Most people that will make payment using crypto will use bitcoin or ethereum. The use of crypto in porn site I must say is over due. They must have added this a long time ago especially such site that have visitors from around the world. It's a good news for all those monero maximalist. This not actually a big news just like what you are describing but still have some good effect in crypto overall because it just mean that pornhub are expanding the application of crypto in there website which we all know they are the most famous and large income in porn industry. Soon they will add more payment option depends on the partnership or community request.

It's not about how the speed blockchain because if that is the only basis then BTC should be remove as payment option since its the slowest of them all. They are considering the volume of the user of the cryptocurrency before they add it on there payment option.

The problem with privacycoins is that governments really don't like them, they already started demanding from exchanges to delist them, and maybe in the future privacycoins will be so strongly associated with cybercrime, that no legitimate business would want to use them, because it would only bring suspicion to them. This is not to say that privacycoins are inherently evil, but they are getting a bad reputation rather quickly. So, in this scenario, Pornhub and other sites might drop them in the future.

Pornhub's can accept any cryptos if they wanted to do so, in fact, they are already acquiring a number of cryptos already seems that this event isn't special, and expecting that these gonna be happening all the way as we are establishing a good market relationship among merchants and online sites. There will be a massive acceptance for crypto in no time, bitcoin, monero, other altcoins. As in almost every possible accepted crypto. A huge volume would come in and demand for it.

Well, privacy really matters in cryptocurrencies and especially people who want to get subscriptions for porn-related services will have privacy as more priority over the transaction fees. Even bitcoin is not completely anonymous so that is the reason having Moenro like privacy coin is more welcomed by the pornhub users.

Tron-based USDT is actually faster with no fees but tether is completely centralized so it's like banks know that for what you are actually using those funds which most people don't want to happen.

How about the drama on Cypher Trace's tool to trace Monero transactions? I doubt that Cypher Trace tools can crack down the anonymous transactions on Monero network. Is it a drama to crack the price of Monero only. After the drama as bad news, Pornhub brings a good news to Monero fans.

It's a good business move for them to expand and include crypto as options. As the OP have said, Monero provides anonymity so this is a plus for their customers and for Pornhub as well.

And I will say that this is good news overall for crypto market. Every industry as now looking at crypto as payment methods so it's a win-win for us. I wouldn't be surprised if this industry and other companies are starting to look to crypto and will offer it the soonest.

I think they would have anticipated all the possibilty at that price volatile.

Bitcoin is volatile and altcoins are affected somehow.

I understand your sentiments, and you also have a point, Stable coins like USDT for example will prolly be better if the corporation is looking for stability to an extent, but in this case with Pornhub, I think privacy is their concern atm and not a coin with a stable network, and it's not so difficult to understand why they want to offer their customers some privacy looking at the service they offer, not a bad one, but not generally accepted by many; so I'm sure that's the reason Monero is being adopted by Pornhub.

We're already in a situation such as this, Bitcoin is now being adopted amongst traditional institutions that people thought wouldn't consider investing in a cryptocurrecy, not to talk of incorporating it as their reserve asset; as many altcoins that continue to work and develop their network, they are going to move high as well with Btc, since they all serve different purposes, some stable coins, others privacy coins, some used for low fees, etc, people can accept and use them all, as long as they don't turn into shady networks.
