Hello, two years ago I created a wallet and I converted some bitcoins in Tron TRX. I have the private key file but I don't remember the wallet or the site. What can I do ?
I believe I used coinbase.com for buying bitcoins, then binance.com, I can enter in these websites but I don't remember where to use my private wallet key.
Thanks

If you wanna try to recover your tron wallet and then you should go here https://tron.network/wallet?lng=en

I recommend you to use tronlink or imtoken. You can also try to use any wallet that listed on that official site of tron too. You can start to download the app in your mobile device. This is the easiest way to recover your wallet.
If you are having your privatekey and you can import it into the new tron wallet.

Tried with tron link with Restore function, then import account with Import by Keystore but it searches only for text files.... mine has not extension.
so I added extension .txt but it gives an error please select the correct keystore file. and I see that must be imported from tronlink...
then I tried to give private key directly but I don't know how to do. I have to open the file? it appears an XML file .....

Code:
{"version":3,"id":"XXXXXXXXXX","address":"YYYYYYYYYYYYY","Crypto":{"ciphertext":"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ","cipherparams":{"iv":"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"},"cipher":"aes-128-ctr","kdf":"scrypt","kdfparams":{"dklen":32,"salt":"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE","n":8192,"r":8,"p":1},"mac":"QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ"}}

file name is :

UTC--2018-03-25T10-15-56.426Z--XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Thanks

I think your file type is json, try to google how to import Tron Wallet with Keystore file json. Also json filetype usually protected by a password, did u remember it?

i'm not quite sure if you can use your private key either on Binance or Coinbase since both of those platforms doesn't allow you to hold your private key so my assumption is the private key you currently holding might open tron wallet itself.

I can import only text files, not json

The only way for you to open your wallet through use wallet-cli https://github.com/tronprotocol/wallet-cli#Wallet-related-commands

As far as i know when you are creating a new tron wallet through wallet-cli and the format of your priv key will be on the JSON file. that's the only way for you to import your wallet.
I never use this before but it seems like this is the possible thing that you can do to open your wallet.

The keystore format that used by wallet-cli will not be compatible with anyother tron wallet. I meant JSON

Trust wallet is a multi wallet, if OP import his private key into a multi wallet it will create new Tron address instead unless OP used Trust wallet to generate the private key in the first place, its better to import the private key into a stand alone Tron wallet

If you have a private key, you don't need to worry. You can log in to any wallet that supports tron, such as Trustwallet, Tokenpocket, Tronlink, etc.

You seems to have confused something.

If you have a private key, you sure you got it from Coinbase or Binance? They dont have such option.

The name you post "UTC--2018-03-25T10-15-56.426Z--XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" and mentioning "json file" makes me think that you are speaking about https://www.myetherwallet.com/. There, when creating a wallet they give you option to enter you wallet by using combination of "json file + password". And also show you wallets private key (just in case).

I've checked my pile of files and my files that start with "UTC--20..." are from https://www.myetherwallet.com/.

You can find additional info about json file here, but based on filename, I'm 200% sure MyEtherWallet is what you are looking for.

If it's MyEtherWallet I consider frankge973 had TRON ERC20 tokens and I doubt he will be able to convert them into TRX.

I believe you can still deposit into Binance using TRON ERC20 since the option is still there. Good luck!

The exact case as mine, on 2017 I left some TRX on a MEW wallet that unfortunately got lost and found them today... BOOM!

If OP or anyone in the same situation is still interested here are some useful links:
1. Access MEW Wallet: https://www.myetherwallet.com/access-my-wallet
2. Tron contract info: https://etherscan.io/address/0xf230b790e05390fc8295f4d3f60332c93bed42e2
3. Why I can't see TRX on MEW: https://medium.com/myetherwallet/trx-why-cant-i-see-my-tokens-on-mew-38e2982ed00
4. How to add custom token (TRX) on MEW: https://kb.myetherwallet.com/en/tokens/how-to-add-custom-token/
5. How to use MEW offline: https://kb.myetherwallet.com/en/offline/using-mew-offline/

Regarding this quote, I've searched that option in Binance but I didn't find it (or didn't search for it in the correct place)...
Do you have more info about this? Is it just done by transferring them to my ETH address on Binance? any link or comment on this will be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Regarding into posted above, you will be able to convert trx erc20 token into trc20 via binance exchange. to be sure to deposite trx into eth address not tron address. but recovery first your trx using any supporting wallet.
