So I made several payments yesterday, and being a cheapskate and never in a rush I always pay the lowest blockchain fees. I've had previous transactions be a bit late before but nothing to this scale. Two payments in electrum history just say "Unconfirmed" and threee say "Unconfirmed parent", and it's been stuck like that for 24 hours now. The blockchain just shows all transaction IDs as unconfirmed too.
Did I just time this wrong with all the news about bitcoin prices skyrocketing yesterday and now everyone is buying in?

What fee did you pay and do you needed a fast confirm?

Do you have any idea on how coin control is configured: whether the wallet is set to prefer privacy or low fees? If its the latter, you might be able to bump the fee of the last transaction to just enough to cover the rest.

Fees are really high though now, your first bump on 5 transactions should be around 0.5 mbtc if I've calculated right.

The transaction fees have spiked significantly. Now, you need to pay about 120 sat/byte to get a transaction confirmed in the next block. If any of these transactions is urgent then you can bump its fee by right-clicking on the transaction and selecting "Bump fee".

It would have helped if you would have posted the transaction Ids. However, as said, if possible bump the fee (check https://mempool.space/ for fees) and keep in mind that where you have unconfirmed parent you have to set high fee in order to trigger CPFP (child pays for parent). Of course also check if those parents don't also have unconfirmed parent, because it can go quite deep when mempool is this full and people don't pay attention or don't care.

Yeah, I've noticed that myself.  I used Electrum to send a few payments yesterday, and the last one I sent is still stuck in the network--and it's been about 16 hours at a fee of 87sat/byte.  Unfortunately it's a low amount that I'm sending so there's no way I'm going to bump the fee any higher.

OP, this is how it is sometimes--especially when the price of bitcoin is going haywire like it is now.  People are buying and selling and generally sending a lot more bitcoin than usual, so the network is congested (at least that's how I see it).  So either you bump the fee up or exercise some patience.  Your transaction will confirm eventually.

This was the one, bumped all my fees to around that and they've immediately gone through. Big thanks for all the help everyone.
