I sold some of my BTC savings too but I was left with no choice since we don't have enough cash.
As long as I could I would just hold it but since I don't have a choice anymore and we are short in cash so I decided to sell some of my BTC savings.
But I would surely save more or buy back if I could.

As long as:

-you made profits,
-need urgent money,
-anticipate that price won't increase more
-really necessary to convert

then don't regret your action. It's a part of the experience and there's nothing wrong with that.

Next time, you can now make a good strategy if ever the same trend will happen again in the future.

I have got into Bitcoin since 2016 and way back since then I still remain on doing works related to crypto whether it is for Bitcoin or Altcoin because both are good and essential cryptocurrencies. As for me, I have faced lots of challenges dealing with the volatility of the crypto market but still I keep going on because before I have got into crypto, I have lots of trials on seeking job opportunities which some are successful and some are not. With the opportunity given to me by Bitcoin, I remain on this and despite of the challenges, I entrusted all to it on which I put investments and trades to it because I believe on its capacity and capability. Look at it now, breaking its recorded ATH way back 2017 which it have already exceeded $20,000 and still going on.

^ I had experienced the same as you, I don't have enough savings now because I spend them all during at that time when I was in sick. I have no choice just to cash out my bitcoin than I cannot pay my bills in the hospital. Look at now, we have reached the new ATH but we don't have bitcoin to cash out, a little bit disappointed to my self but the repentance always comes at last, it will never come back so probably let us collect again and prepare to the next ATH.

I missed the train during the previous bull trend, and on personal compulsion (need-urgent) sold all my bitcoin and altcoin holdings when the market was bearish. Initially sold bitcoin and further believed of growth with altcoins. Nothing gave hands, and my entire portfolio was destroyed as a began to cashout when there is no bullish movement at the market. I consoled myself its my fate, but the reality is we need patience.

I am also guilty of selling some Bitcoin.
Why? I was really tempted by the huge number.
Also, my wife just keeps on bugging me about buying new appliances for the house.
Of course, she knows I have bitcoins stacked in my wallet and she also checks the exchange.  Grin

Well, I made her happy, and now her mouth is zipped tight.  Grin
I can go back into keeping more.

You can be proud of that too. A happy wife means a happy life. If they ask for the private keys of Satoshis, and its within reach, just oblige. You'd be happier for it. Congrats bro.

Hahahaha...... No, no, no

Nobody should go that far a sullen route for selling at any time. Buying, selling mining or hodling, even hating, are all part of what made the bitcoin space thick. "We're All Satoshi", except Craig.

Thanks for the extra vibes, though.

I'm also in the same boat this year (have to move to a big apartment cause I'm tired of stopping the boys from fighting over toys etc and also have to make my wife happy lol) but i have no reason to be sad about it because the market usually give more opportunities and i have already focused my plan on the next halving season.

I believe we have so many reasons why we sold bitcoin too early, and if that is because of our family, we do not have to regret because we make money for them. If we can see they are happy to see our gift or we can make them happy, that will be the biggest things that we can value with anything. I also sold bitcoin too early, but I still try to make more bitcoin because it is worth my family, and I am willing to do anything to make them happy.

I'm sure most Bitcoin holders must have sold too early, including myself selling Bitcoin at $ 19,000. I was even surprised that Bitcoin
was able to hit the price of $ 24,000. Most people selling Bitcoin too early, because would not want the events of 2017-2018 to happen
again. For me, I don't need to be sorry if I currently sell Bitcoin too early, rather than not getting any profit at all. Later when the Bitcoin
price corrects deep enough, that's my chance to buy Bitcoin again.

I too thought that Bitcoin will be bullish this year specially after the halving as it always follows that trend. But as we know, what we say/think sometimes is so different than our actions or what we do. I too sold my crypto and also had major losses which I thought were not much but now then I think about it, I could have saved oh lot so much money. This is my regret and hopefully I'll learn from it and always believe on my guts when it's positive!

And I don't find any reason for selling it early since actually we don't have an early word if we talk about volatility since in the first place we don't know the trajectory point of bitcoin if it will pump or dump but as long as we don't lose our money for dumping that then we should really be happy and learn from this incident although it's good thing to hold until today but things happened already and we need to learn from this.

I keep hearing these days that there are a lot of traders who regretted their decision after they sold their bitcoin when the price is resisting at $20,000. I keep telling to others that it is a major resistance wherein it is a toughest resistance and look what happened where there is a price rally when the price of the bitcoin managed to broke the ATH at that time. For those who sold too early, be grateful first because you have a gain and you did not incur any losses but it should serve as lesson for you in order for you to not repeat the same mistakes that you did. Focus on developing your strategy and managed to do some backtesting in order for you to master different trading setups.

There are still a lot of opportunities out there so overcome and reflect to the mistakes that you did. You can still gain some profit if you will create a wise plan and execute it perfectly.

Actually, there is a thing that we must ignore:
greediness

In this case, this is also one of the conditions where we may feel greedy and this may cause loss.
What we need to do is by diversifying our balances. Put some percentage for sale, some for short-term investment in a certain rate and some for a longer rate. however, ensure that we are ready with all risks that we may face including too early selling. if this has actually reached the profits, why not? We can sell it but not all in. Just consider the diversification. Feel enough for the funds that have been sold.

I think there is no one who sold on time. For that you need a lot of luck with all rest. Selling near peak is good enough for me.

But people dont get contented on what they have earned but instead theyre trying to look into the farther side of things that they might able to earn big if they have hold much more longer.

What would be their words if they get caught in the dump and hadnt able to sell off that similar time? for sure they would tell that they had should sell earlier.

Its a common word for us human beings to have these things in mind.We do regret when we missed out better opportunities or we do regret when we dont able to get out earlier
to save up our ass.

As long you do gain then that what matter most.

Right from time I believed more in Bitcoin more than any other cryptocurrencies, and that’s what has been working for me. Most of my investments in this year was in Bitcoin and I didn’t bother myself much when it comes to investing in altcoins, although I did invest in Ethereum, and I also wanted to invest in Synthetix and UMA (though with the way UMA is going recently I have lost interest in it). I am happy that Bitcoin went this far and has increased much. If it still goes up I will be more happy.

There are altcoins that were hyped a lot this year and their prices increased heavily, just like DeFi and they have crashed already.

We are selling bitcoin because of one reason, and if we sell bitcoin because of panic, then there will be something wrong with you because we do not want to sell bitcoin while we are at a loss. It is better to take a profit for a small amount than to sell bitcoin at a loss. And that is why we always need to analyze and think about profit and loss, so we can decide to sell only if we can take profit. But it is okay if we sell bitcoin because we are in urgent need. After all, we need money for that.

Let's hear you, how or where did you first discover Bitcoin?

To be honest i found out about Bitcoins some 8-9 years back, at that time the price was not interesting and many people didn’t have immense knowledge about. One of my friend told about it and hence i get into this as a time pass.
Also to be honest, in my entire life I haven’t deposited a single penny in cryptos, though I have earned them a lot.
In the past few years , i have done many microjobs and till now i have made around more than 10k$ with Bitcoins.

And when it comes to the regret, part i just sold 2000$ worth of Bitcoins when the price was struggling around 18-19k USD. And then suddenly after 3 days the price pumped to 23k USD.
Nevertheless let’s see for the future, what i can do best to yield maximum profits.

Honestly I have learned about bitcoin way way too early, I would have been a millionaire easily if I was smart enough to keep every single coin I have made so far, I would have been so rich that I wouldn't need to ever work again, have a huge house, a great car, change my car with a new one every 5 years and still not have to work ever again, that much money I could have made.

However that is not what upsets me most, the fact that I sold too early is fine, the part that upsets me most is the fact that I knew it, I knew that bitcoin would go higher and that is what bothers me the most, because I could have just kept my bitcoins and not sold them and get rich and I knew this, but I didn't, because of some life stuff that I had to sell bitcoins and pay them off, so that debt I had to cover is the cost of this, I would have been so much richer if I didn't had that debt to pay off.
