I can't find the sites I used to use back in the day; any good places to research new coins as they are launching / about to launch?

Particularly interested in anything you can get in on mining right from day 1 or at least very early on, before difficulty is through the roof.

Many thanks!

There are many such platforms made available today. I would suggest to go with icodrops.com.
Other platforms to track such upcoming projects are:

  • ICOBench
  • ICOHolder
  • ICOAlert
  • CoinSchedule
  • TrackICO

Thanks - coinschedule is one of the ones I used to check, but it appears to be down/dead.

I am looking more for stuff you can mine, vs. ICOs (the idea of just blindly investing capital into a potentially sketchy new project still doesn't sit right with me for the most part.)

You had been out for more than 2 years so yes many things may change over those years.

ICObench is one of the most popular in regards to coins releases and updates, and also try to Visit their ANN thread in service discussion to Find more hints for which coins/project to support.

Even though you're trying to search from icobench, cryptonews website and many other sites you'll still feel so difficult to determine which new coins will launch successfully. It's been a long time since I got a successful project but nowadays, I've been so frustrated because most of it was a scam and not doing any good outcome.

The best method would be to follow airdrop channels, they share which coins are going to be shared recently and they end up with doing as much as they can with the info they have, so they are sharing all the new projects. Of course these are projects that have airdrops, there are also others that do not have any airdrops neither, but I do not know where you can find the active ones in that one.

Obviously when you check the airdrop ones, most of them will require you to give your information like twitter and telegram, and will want you to follow them. When you join their twitter and telegram you could talk with others there and you can see what is going on. If people are there mainly for just free money, it is not going to be a good one, if people do talk about other stuff and they chat there about things, they could actually worth something in the end.

I still prefer Bitcointalk and I don't go for airdrops if the new coin looks dubious and they are run by bad actors the community will react and report these scammers, you cannot do that if they are launch elsewhere but they can still get reported by members whom they scam.

there are many ways to find the site you are looking for, and one of them you can find on this tread. or you can also find it in several reliable sources. One of which is bitcointalk forum and coincodex. but this is only a reference, there are many other sources of information that can provide the information you need
There are lots of sites but there are only a few sites that can be trusted. Almost all of these sites were getting paid to listed the crappy coin. As far as I know the legit site like icodrop or cryptorank are the only sites that can be trusted right now.
People should be actively discussing it with another person from the various community too.

Everyone gets paid one way or other my friend. Some take listings,,, some deny it but take it. Some take a token fee for successful sales, some take percentages cut of the whole thing. Nobody these days lists a centralized token project from the goodness of their hearts anymore;) Email lists, be on them. You will see what I mean.

Im with this but if you do find out in other sources on some coin launching then its always better if you do make out some in depth research which is through into this forum.
They might not have or might have some ANN thread on this place which would be a good thing for you to check on.Those listing sites like ICObench does have known issues
back in the past which been paid on listing out those shitty projects to be shown and thats why lots or majority of people had lost up their trust for them to check out
on whats being listed or preferred by the site.

Particularly interested in anything you can get in on mining right from day 1 or at least very early on, before difficulty is through the roof.

Many thanks!

There are several ways to find out about new projects, platforms or products and you have listed on the thread already and i hope you make good use. Remember that a token having an ann thread on the forum does not mean it is legit, so always do your own research. A telegram page i know that list new platforms is Generation Crypto News & Analytics.

Always do your own research.

There are a lot of platforms that provide information on startups that you're looking for, personally I'm used to icobench. In all, one thing that is certain is that irrespective of the website that the ICO got listed on, it's never a guarantee of success. And as well catching a mining opportunity from when the difficulty is easy is not a full guarantee of hitting it huge even when mining gets more difficult.

You can chek it at this forum and sub forum altcoin announcement. In term of IEO you can check at Tokpie/chainex/vindex etc.
But you still need in depth research before putting your money in new altcoin project and prepare for the lose of value if project fail. We never know what will happen next. Even XRP now in the worst of it situation. " There are always risk in investment "

There are only 2 options, carefully study all projects or you must be lucky, no one knows how profitable the project will be.

Yes it is but I will try to add a small notice about that if ICODROP is the only reliable ico list site to get the legit icos. More than 80% of ICOS were being listed on ICOdrops were legit.
I'm also actively discussing with the founder of ico drop on icodrop tele group and he was a nice guy too.
You can see that the majority of early adopters from the projects listed on icodrop always get nice ROI.

Yeah, I think of the same. I had engaged other sites in the past and they are literally here for making money. They used to charge as much as 5 ETH at that time for their premium package. That's why I suggested OP to with ICODrops. Till the date, it list good projects and I observed 3 recent ICOs which gave more than 3x gains. Unfortunately, I stopped participating in ICOs but if you are here for that, ICODrops is a good platform to filter. #DYOR
