I've been running a crypto blog for a couple of years now and have started to look into ways to monetize it.
I've tried few options, such as referral campaigns for specific sites, but but none have been very successful. Also, it doesn't have a high enough Alexa rank to qualify for sites like MellowAds (top 100,000).
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
In my experience in using these networks as an advertiser, these networks can be categorised into 3 categories - 1. facets, 2. mainstream crypto, 3. irrelevant.
1. Facet networks are mostly for advertisers to fish for the audience that is always out looking for an extra buck.
2. Mainstream crypto networks have good Alexa rank sites on them, but each to their own, they all have some bad seeds in them.
3. Irrelevant networks are ones that gather any crypto sites, just for the sake of monetisation.
In the case of your blog, depending on the content, you may want to avoid categories 1 and 3 - and Stick to mainstream networks like Coinzilla or Bitmedia.
But as @examplens said, the key to becoming a profitable ad publisher is good SEO position, thats because SEO helps google recognise and rank your website through key words and in turn, it will bring relevant search audiences to your site (this is only one aspect of SEO!). In the advertiser perspective, this is their main consideration - the audience segment.
Hope this helps!
