Me neither. I mean many of those poker scenes are fun to watch, but everyone who plays poker knows how far are they from reality.

~ the only movie that reaches a point very close to telling us a story related to the world of gambling in a near reality is Rounder, something very fictitious and too armed in some scenes, but in the whole (film) and not in a particular scene they manage to capture the attention in the plot.

Familiar faces: Matt Damon is a self-proclaimed fans of poker has been seen on a few occasions playing the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The film is complemented by the great actor Edward Norton, who always leaves us great performances in the characters that he decides to develop in any movie.

I watched almost all the movies mentioned in this thread, but for some reason I missed this one, Rounders(1998). As I see, it has a nice cast and a decent 7.3 stars on imdb, and it is considered a great poker related movie, so I'm going to watch it this very evening. Thanks for your post!

I am not really a bug fan of James Bond, I really love his movies because it really gives me goosebumps whenever something great happens in the movie, those things that we can watch on movies cannot happen in real life but I know that there are so many people who think that someday they will do the same thing, just like what I am thinking. That's how we react whenever we watch good movies.

Rounders is a great movie but its all about cards as I remember, very well done of course its the one to watch for a more accurate portrayal.  The scenes in James Bond have to get straight to the point and obviously its purely for show like anything else in the entire movie, Mr Bond gets the perfect play right at that moment or it'd be a very long movie if realistic.   Theres going to be a few more decent movies to watch if we include casino games generally.

I watched it yesterday, and indeed the whole movie revolves around poker, and the main idea, imo, is that you will go nowhere with cheating. Instead of learning how to cheat, you can learn how to play watching the games of the top poker players, just like the protagonist watching 1988 World Series of Poker Main Event on video tapes(something that is much easier to do now using YouTube).

James bond does not have to worry even if he lose millions because he is working with the government and they are financing him, and it's just a movie, pretty different from real life scenario where we are gambling with our money and not scripted, lol..

The only casino scene from James Bond that I am familiar with is the Casino Royale.

same, as it was a famous movie when I was a kid, and the other 4 was too old for me to know, I haven't seen that movies for I wasn't too much fan of Bond, and I think even if I try to witness the whole 4 movies I wouldn't  enjoy it as the film is way too old for its effects...

No matter what happen. James Bond films are the lowest film that has no influence about the gamblers. It was really made purely for action so I doubt it has to do with your camera and others. There are plenty of james bond film that has much more influence.

Agree. I love James Bond movies and the casino scenes are very exciting. Whether or not they influence us to become a player is a dilemma. In my opinion, when we visit land-based Casinos it influences us in such a way that we want to return if we share it especially with friends.
