So back in 2014/15 i bought some BTC and had a wallet on the old blockchain.info site. I had used a few coins to purchase "stuff" and had some change left over which back then wasn't much so was quickly forgotten although i always knew i had saved the 21 word recovery mnemonic on a hard drive somewhere somewhere....
2-3 years ago i remembered i still had these coins which become worth a few thousand dollars so i thought i should find them again....
2 years later till today and sifting through 7 hard drives and billions of files i finally found the 21 word recovery mnemonic. I keyed the words in and i was given a link to my wallet id and the password but then when i attempted to log in it said "authorization required, check email".... back in those days 2fa was disabled by default,  i used temporary email addresses to create the wallet and was never required to authorize logins via email nor was a phone number registered.  There also wasn't  silver or gold memberships as today.
So i emailed support and the response i got was that i should use my 12 word,  not 21 word, recovery phrase and reset 2fa.... but this makes no sense as i had used my original 21 word phrase and recovered my login credentials but the damn thing still won't let me in.  What was the point of having such recovery mnemonic and how the hell am i gonna get around this email authorization??
The wallet is worth $30k+ and times are tough, can anyone make sense of this and know a solution?

Complicated case. There are many users seems on Reddit who have the same issue with the 21 recovery phrase. But there is no solution at all. So, I have no idea how it should solve. Do you have access to the mail? Can you please check if the file of the wallet still exists there in case they sent you at the beginning?

Otherwise, you may contact the walletrecoveryservice, they are quite trusted on the forum. Who knows if they have any idea to recover your wallet.

The pain of using such wallets can be realized only when we are getting into trouble, even I had the same email login issues but I know my login credentials and wallet ID so I entered into the website version by entering wallet ID and password which doesn't need authorization I guess.

I am not sure is possible to import your address into another wallet like electrum with 21-word recovery seed!

It looks like a major problem with the early web wallet format of blockchain.info. In this Reddit post, you can clearly see that there are so many people facing the same problem with no clear solution to it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7kf60d/recovering_legacy_wallet_from_blockchaininfo_21/

have you tried this option: https://login.blockchain.com/wallet/forgot-password

afaik the mnemonic in blockchain.info back then was only used for recovering passwords and doesn't contain any keys.

do you recall saving a json wallet file or paper backup? try to look for them. See this old article for reference: Tutorial: Backup Basics! The Best Ways to Backup Your Blockchain Wallet. Users also had an option to save them in clouds like dropbox and gdrive.

Oh man, sorry that's such a huge amount in today's time. Heard of the same problem about the recovery phrases and this is where they struggle. Can't you remember anymore the email that you've used for registering before?

IIRC, this email authorization just came lately when they've purchased the domain .com and you really have to access it through email as they'll give the login verification link.

And after this update they've made, a lot of users who have the old wallets when they were still .info who wants to access got into problem like this.

Neither of these will work.

These 21 words from old blockchain.info wallets are an internal recovery mechanism only - they are not BIP39 seed phrases (or any other type of seed phrase) and were not used to derive wallets or private keys. They only provide a back up mechanism for accessing your log in details to the old blockchain.info site, which has obviously since been replaced by blockchain.com.

If OP used a temporary email address, then his only two options for recovery are either if he backed up the .json file as Potato Chips has explained above, or trying to get blockchain.com's support to provide him access to his account. But given how terrible a platform blockchain.com is, I wouldn't be holding my breath.
