The right planned risk can pay the bills if the trader has solid experience in the volatile crypto markets. The best time is always the time before the started altcoin bull market. IMO, the only best time to buy an altcoin is when it's a microcap. I've made the most money from investing in solid microcaps like EC and 0xMR. It's easier to 10x with a microcap that hasn't mooned yet than something that's already been listed and traded on Binance for example.

Even when that is true, you can also easily get Rekt in most of these microcaps alts that have not fully been tested in the crypto ecosystem as much as you can also easily make good profits. I normally don't go for those as I like to invest my money on whats established already, take BTC for example, even when people bought the ATH of 2017/18 if they held till now, that's major profit and you must also know why you are investing, for long term or short team. I must say that I invested in BNB like 2 weeks ago, compare the price from then till now.

No one has a crystal ball but here are the most likely scenarios:

Bitcoin ETF approved in the US, Bitcoin pumps to 100k then money flows back into alts.

XRP lawsuit dropped, XRP pump starts alt season.

Economic collapse, traders dump everything, including crypto. 1-2 months later a new quantum financial system emerges based on blockchain technology, all cryptos pump but Bitcoin likely loses it's #1 spot if lighting network isn't adopted or exists merely as a tokenized store of value on XRP/XLM/IOTA/HBAR/ETH.

Anyway, historically the largest gains have come from microcaps so I am loading up on ALCX and 0xMR too.

I really agree with you because there are many altcoins currently moving forward and continuing to improve their performance to reach the highest price. and this condition has been proven by the increased DOgecoin. and there are several other altcoins that are sure to increase in the near future, so don't waste this opportunity.

More than 3000 altcoins and the struggle to find solid altcoin projects.. It looks like we have to filter the bad projects with useless roadmap first in order to find the best ones among the rest of the altcoin projects. Dogecoin case is not nice example here because the recent tweets by Elon Musk has caused a huge interest on the crypto investors who have bought the pumped Dogecoin in the market price. The right project is a profitable project, it doesn't matter we are right or wrong, what matters is the profit at the end of the trading session.
