COVID-19 could still be causing outbreaks in 10 years time, the creator of the world’s first approved vaccine has said.

Ugur Sahin, chief executive of Germany's BioNTech, partnered with US drug company Pfizer and took less than a year to get a vaccine approved.

Around 500,000 doses of the vaccine have already been administered in the UK and it looks set to be approved in several other countries within weeks.

Despite the progress, however, Sahin told a press conference on Tuesday that he believes the virus may survive for several years to come.

Well, this isn't too outlandish when you think about it. The common cold is a type of coronavirus and there's no vaccinating for the common cold so that obviously happens year round. The flu is a type of virus that spikes every winter. If you reach the threshold for herd immunity, having isolated cases of coronavirus shouldn't be an issue as long as most people are protected.

That's not true. Herd immunity does work if you have a single disease with a low mutation rate run its way through a population. The percentage you need for herd immunity varies though. For COVID, you need like an 80-90% population with antibodies.

That's...not how virus mutations work...

Viruses mutate randomly because of errors in viral replication (meaning when they replicate their DNA/RNA). It's not like you got some guy in a lab coat that begins poking COVID with a stick and magically you end up with some mutated version that kills grandmothers at 50x the rate.

The common cold has been around for at least decades, if not centuries. Coronavirus has been around for at least decades if not centuries.

Many doctors and virologists - even Dr. Fauci - will tell you that all Coronaviruses are 80% similar to all other Coronaviruses. After all, if they weren't similar to each other, they would be a different virus, or in a different virus family.

The immune systems of all people recognize Coronaviruses because all people have been introduced to them long ago. Coronaviruses are everywhere.

The reason why a few people get sick is, their immune systems have been compromised by unhealthy living, or by virus vaccines that cause the immune system to look at the dead viruses in the vaccine... thereby mixing up the immune system so that it doesn't know which virus is real and which is vaccine induced.

In other words, people don't need vaccines for Covid-19, even if Covid-19 is around for the next thousand years. But people who get vaccinated for it have a far greater chance of their immune system being compromised by the vaccine, so that they die of Coronavirus, and not necessarily of the Covid-19 kind.

^^ That actually may not be literally accurate.  There was a lot of predictive programming in the scientism rags a few years ago about 'one shot to end them all', but that has gone quite.  For now.  Sounds to me like they were talking about 'injectable nano-platforms' which could not only read the biochemistry of the subject (see 'Profusa'), but could also fabricate arbitrary mRNA and be remotely programmed to do so as well.

The message is loud and clear.  They are going to ram their 'transhumanism' fever-dream down our throats whether we like it or not, and they calculate that for whatever sets of reasons the time is now.

Some of these people may honestly believe that they know better and it's 'best for us'.  They watched to much sci-fi fantasy and were to quick to drink the kool-aid.  Such people are not driving this bus and will end up road-kill just like the useless eater classes.
