As I always recommends here:

Try with the 5th card only to see if it's working properly
Change the riser of this card
Disconnect and connect all the cables, sometimes it's just a bad plug

Try update drivers and windows

Try to plug display cable on this 5th card

It's hard to know precisely about issues on rigs, and the better approach is to test piece by piece to discard problems

I don't know why this problem is very common with asus motherboards, I'm sure you are running on windows 10 OS? The solution is to change OS to Linux or run a better dedicated OS for mining only like hiveOS, your gpu issue will be solved pretty fast

Here are few mining OS that can erase the issue with multiple graphic cards if you can give a try, you can get a 8gb flash drive and install the OS easily

1. Hive OS
2. Simple mining OS
3. Cudo miner OS
4. EthOS

The mining Os’s will do the heavy lifting for you.  Not much to learn in linux for them.

i would add mmpos to the list.
I run Ethos and mmpos for my rigs.
Ethos has been solid but not updated in 2+years.   Still runs great.
Run mmpos on all the newer cards to get best results.

Good news is for all listed only need to instsll to a flash drive (usb thumbstick) to try and use.

Once you mine under linux hard to go back to windows,  Just so solid and reliable linux is Smiley

So at all the solution is change OS? I think it is better to find the failure and not change OS  Huh
I use Win10 (I use Linux also) for over 3 years on 30 rigs and i have found solutions for all issues but at the end i didn´t have much issues.

For me the better Mining Platform is Windows10, more flexible, more user friendly and so on.
But i think, to learn and understand mining is the best solution, if you understand it, than it is no problem to find the failure.

And by the way, this is not a OS problem i think. Have you tested every single GPU alone? Did you change the riser?

If there is no problem with the PCIe slot and riser and OP already update the motherboard bios the next thing to do is change OS to mining OS like Hive OS , EthOS and others, OP can also try Linux, he doesn't need to erase the whole windows OS setup, all he needs is a flash drive and the OS or Linux OS file and boot through false drive

he only need to unplug his windows hard drive and have a usb stick loaded with smos plugged in.

The reason we ask for him to change the os to linux is more than what you think.

If he changes the os and it does not work.

It is 100% certain there is a physical defect.

Since he tested every riser 1 at a time
Since he tested every gpu 1 at a time
Since it all used to work.

Switching to linux and getting same result means a broken part.

It eliminates a sheath win 10 update that screwed everything up.

The only other thing possible would be physical and not a software setting.

Now to test further for physical is possible.

1) mobo has aged can no longer handle the load
2) mobo slot went bad.
3) a riser usb cable is bad.
4) psu has aged  and can not handle the cards load.

If linux works he is then certain the issue is windows 10 software.

Only thing to do is try linux so he can determine if it is os or hardware.

It is impossible (very hard ) to do so with out trying linux.

You don't have to install Linux OS or other in your windows hard drive, a pen drive is more than enough, it's what I used and it works fine, if Linux failed to see all the graphic cards then the motherboard is faulty, you need to get another

OP I recommend changing the OS if you've already try the following

1. The power pack is enough to carry all the five graphic cards
2. Change the gen 2, 1 etc
3. Change risers
4. Test all gpu one by one, a single defective gpu can affect others to boot up
5. Upgrade bios

If you've completed all the following you have no other choice but to give a new OS a try

No need to install a full linux distro, try a dedicated mining OS as mentioned before:

Simplemining : https://simplemining.net/page/download

HiveOS: https://hiveos.farm/install/

One of these will have you mining in minutes...

It might be just a driver not a windows os itself since you installed a new os it might be fix due to new driver you installed.

Anyway, I think if you want to run it on linux I suggest you to use hiveos which is free for one rig and you can easily use them and remote them through web or even on mobile phone.

Solving blocks can't be solved without my rigs.

Good to know you find solution

For everyone who will have problems, always do the same, check risers, update windows and drivers, teste Gpus alone, 1 by one and it's a good thing to have one mining OS on a flash stick, like philipma said, you can eliminate problems easily

I have my rig and I use the rig for daily tasks, so I can't put mining OS, but whenever I face an issue, I can always solve ins a few minutes with these steps

I like simple mining, but hive os is good too

I'm glad the problem is solve, Linux OS can be very complicated to operate but gradually you will get better with it, though using a complete mining OS is way more easier, the interface makes every thing so easy, hiveOS for example is smooth, no need to run any codes
