Ethereum is currently doing quite well and they haven't even released a complete update on etheruem 2.0 on the issue of gas fees. I think this will be really interesting, I think the 2 good coins that will shine are Ethereum and Litecoin. both of them have shown amazingly good progress in the past week

Tbh, we can only tell if what you did can be considered as a mistake or not once we get there but I do believe that we will also get altcoin season soon so I have hopes too. As long as you are fine investing the remaining funds you have in Ethereum, I think that's already good and should not consider what you did as a mistake already. Also, Ethereum is slowly increasing now so you can just hold it and wait for the right time.

For me your strategy mate is good but you are putting too much risk for that percentage dip of Ethereum. As we all know Altcoins are known to be dependent on Bitcoin's price. When Bitcoin reach the correction, that 1.5% will be gone and this is a matter of luck for your investments if the price will continue to rise for a couple of weeks or months since in every bullrun we will expect of course the bearish days where almost all Alts will bleed to death.

Eth is somewhat goos as Bitcoin. There is possibly a good spike happening, for sure in the long term investment you can see the price pump. But I feel like there's gonna be a correction from the ATH that just happened. It's maybe a good timing to buy at this moment knowing that from our past experience, correct always happens. But still it will recover, its just that you have missed maybe to buy at the lower price.

In my opinion you did nothing wrong I vouched for ETH back when it was $11 for 1 ETH , back then I didn't had much to invest so I kept in BTC to grow then when BTC hit 15 grands I pulled and invested in ETH at low value of $80 .
ETH is a good crypto with market cap value of 82 billion next to only BTC, but you shouldn't have invested all  , with BTC still going in upward trajectory with proper monitoring you could have made some more profit from BTC.

Every coin has its time, I think you made the right decision for choosing ethereum, not only its the 2nd coin in the market but I'm sure it will going to surge next year, you just have to wait for its time, I'm very sure you'll be happy with the result, in investing to crypto waiting is really necessary because if you, will panic every time price goes down I'm sure you will not get any profit only loses.

You probably didn't choose wrong, nobody really knows what's gonna happen in the future though.

Altcoin season will come, don't know yet how big is it gonna be (2017 big or less) but it will come. And 'cause of that investing in ETH is probably a good choice.

You could still make more when investing in altcoins different from ETH for altcoin bull but this comes with some risk.

No one literally know at first glance if the decision he have made upon investing is in the right or heading into the wrong track because we are dealing on investment with the volatile market. Better if you worry with price of bitcoin will up you should sell half your assets and keep holding half again because when bitcoin really have the top price you still have chance to sell half your bitcoin assets, but if you sell all when bitcoin reach higher price you always said early to sell why not hold few days later. Now is not time for discussing about should hold or sell bitcoin when you have chance for selling with higher price you should sell and waiting when bitcoin dump to invest again,
