My Coinbase account has been restricted a few days ago so that I am unable to trade or withdraw.
When I log in it asks me to verify my account with identification. I've done this by my account is still locked, and sent an email support ticket and message on twitter to their support but no response.
I was able to log in and view my portfolio just not withdraw or trade until today but now today I get an error message when I log in so I can't view my account at all.

From searching online I came across this article which shows many people have had the same experience.

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/investing/article-9043369/Hundreds-Coinbase-cyptocurrency-customers-lost-access-money-weeks.html

Has anyone else on the forum had an experience like this with Coinbase?

You are not alone, I am also having the issue with my coinbase vault for more than a year now, still there is no sign of accessing my funds. I am also asked to complete verification by customer support even when I did when they told me the same verification required on their earlier response.

@OP move to web wallet section if possible, if you don't know how to do it then no worries I already reported it to.

It happens when they flag the account due to suspicious or fraudulent transactions and do not worry it is just their analysis and it is not final you should contact support and when they will re-check they will reactivate their account if there is nothing wrong so make sure you are in contact with their customer support service.

Have u considered going in person to their office? If you can't get anywhere with customer support then this is an option.
I live in the UK and they seem to have an office in London so I guess I could got there if I can't sort it out through customer support.

It seems ridiculous you'd have to do that but if you live in US then you could go to San Francisco where they are based if you have enough funds locked up to make that worthwhile.
It seems like its virtually impossible to talk to a live agent in the company online or through a phone.

I don't know how to move the topic but maybe an admin can do it.

An account been flagged for suspicion is not the reason why the OP account was locked cause this has been happening since the year 2016 when I have the same issue, I was lucky they unlock it after 2years but I have to submit my passport before they do so.
Coinbase is not a good choice for a non-US user.

I was under the impression they were one of the most trustworthy exchanges. From reading online the number of complaints regarding people having a similar experience apparently I was wrong.
They look shady as hell from reading this!

Some of my friends have stated their coinbase account were locked and their balance frozen mostly because failing some terms of use. Coinbase has a bit board terms to follow. Many of those blocked accounts were due to transaction to or from gambling sites and a few due to use of VPN.

I seriously doubt any of their customers are able to just walk in and lodge a complaint.  It's not like a stock brokerage that has walk-in locations.

Coinbase has been nuking accounts for various reasons for years now.  I had one back in 2015 that got deleted due to a mistake I made (though they didn't steal my funds).  And aside from making deposit mistakes like I did, they also track where your bitcoin comes from and goes to, and if there's any identifiable shady addresses they won't hesitate to make you a former customer.

I suspect they're not doing this because they enjoy being pricks; the US government probably collects all of their customers' data and is forcing them to comply with whatever regulations exist in Coinbase's jurisdiction.  So you're not alone, OP.

I'm pretty sure Coinbase doesn't just steal people's money, because there's no way in hell they'd get away with that.  They're not some unregulated Russian exchange operating out of a shack in Siberia (no offense to the Russians intended, of course).

@OP

All Coinbase's users located in my country have the same problem since last week, it has nothing to do with the account being suspicious, it's because of the KYC enhancement from Coinbase to abide by the latest country's regulation concerning the AML program.
Depending on your country you live in, you may be forced to do it and in some others not.

Was your identity verified before? Did you notice other citizens in the same case? Because if yes then you can bet your country enhanced too the AML program

I was able to log in through the phone app versions of Coinbase and Coinbase Pro, transfer all my crypto from Coinbase Pro to Coinbase then swap all of it to fiat and withdraw the fiat. It let me do this on the app for some reason, although it would only alllow me to withdraw fiat not crypto so I had to sell all my crypto first to get the money out, so i will have to buy all my crypto back now on another exchange.

I didn't want to leave it on there any longer waiting for them to sort out my account in case I found this option wouldn't work to allow me to withdraw when I tried again. If anyone reading here still has money stuck on there and hasn't tried using the app you should try this.

This company and this exchange really is a piece of total garbage. They just ignore emails and support tickets, and its basically impossible to get to speak to speak with someone in person from the company. Other exchanges such as Binance I've used have a support service where you can just speak to a live agent online.

Seems weird! If they suspended your account means you can't access your funds no matter in what way you do, so actually you are not suspended I guess just due to recent KYC regulation change might affected the status of your account.
