The most anonymous way is doing the trade face to face with other bitcoiners and with cash.
Since this is very risky (you could get mugged or worse) do it in a crowded area or even in a police station if they allow it in your country.
Other ways could be buying online but P2P again by finding another bitcoiner that is willing to trade.

If you want to maximize anonymity, it's either this or using a no-ID bitcoin ATM while using a round-brim baseball hat, some shades, and a face mask.

On the other hand, if you just want enough anonymity in a way that you just don't need to submit AML/KYC and that you're fine with the other person knowing a bit about you(because of course you gotta give him/her your bank number, PayPal email, or something similar), then using peer-to-peer services like HodlHodl[1] and Bisq[2] are great options.

You don't need ID or KYC verifications to buy bitcoin in australia, just go to binance exchange and signup, Australians are welcome on binance exchange, or do research on decentralized exchanges, you don't have to go through any verifications to buy or sell on decentralized exchanges

Unfortunately I'm not(and never been) to Australia, though you can check out Coin ATM Radar[1]. Just lookup your address and look around your area and look for an ATM that doesn't require IDs.

There is no obligations nor ID involved when you are trading with other individuals face to face. It's like craig's list. You bring the money, they bring bitcoin and you two agree on the rate and make the exchange. You don't even have to know each other's names.

Local Bitcoins site (Au sellers) most appear to ask for ID and claim its the law, hence my presumption. Your 100% certain its not a law in Au to request ID when exchanging for cash?

There is no special place for that but you can check out if there are any sellers offering Bitcoin with Bisq exchange, or try try using localcryptos.com website for same thing, and you don't need kyc for using both .
If you are meeting with someone in person to buy bitcoin then better choose some public place like coffee shop with people.

There’s a reason why I recommended HodlHodl and Bisq(and NOT LocalBitcoins) is because LocalBitcoins requires AML/KYC.

As to your question, you might want to do research on it as I really can’t answer as I’m not from AU. But then again, if you’re transaction peer-to-peer(like you exchanging money with a friend) and not with a business, why would an ID be needed?

That is a centralized website that has its own centralized rules when you sign up there and want to use their services. What I suggested simply involves two individuals that can meet anywhere on the internet (like this forum or reddit for instance) and trade between themselves.
Nobody can enforce any laws on this but I'm not an expert on Au laws, you may want to consult a professional like a lawyer.

bitcoin talk, I also can't say what the laws are in your country when it comes to buying BTC without an ID and are there any limits to which it is possible to make such a purchase. But what I found is that there are physical outlets where it is possible to buy BTC for cash, and for conditions it is best to contact them.

Try  LocalCoinSwap ^{https://localcoinswap.com/} or similar p2p places. I'm not sure of  all available p2p platforms  but on that one mentioned  all deals   are escrow-protected,  that is why I personally like it. Just switch to Buy Crypto tab and select location from which you wanna buy.

P2P platforms too are risky. You can't trust the other party 100% because some of them change when they see an opportunity to scam. And for the Uniswap, you can only use it to trade ERC-20 tokens, BTC can't be traded their. And you also pay a lot of fee on decentralized exchange like Uniswap.

I am quoting a post made by OmegaStarScream during 2017 about bitcoins atm in Australia. So you can follow this to meet what you want. Though I am not from Australia nor I have any idea about it. But I can suggest you to use this forum's currency exchange section to buy sell your bitcoin in this forum.

 

1. We don't have them in our country but a family member once traveled and I gave him some bitcoin to withdraw them for me, the experience was very good.

2. You should find every ATM here: https://coinatmradar.com/ and this include the fees, the rating from users If they left any, the working hours and the addresses as well.

3. I find the phone a more convenient way since you will receive a confirmation for SMS and I already have my wallet on it. If you are buying bitcoins then the ATM will have a camera and they will ask you to put the QRcode in front of it so you just put your laptop and you are good. If you are selling then again, you can use the camera on your laptop to scan the QR code generated by the ATM and send them.

4. A lot of services like Coinbase, Kraken etc. allow doing that, I have never tried it myself but the fees are definitely not cheap when a third party service is involved, I suggest checking their site and compare them with the ATMs you want to use.

I'd like to add that LocalCryptos is based in Australia so the platform may not be the best solution for op's privacy concerns, not for the long term anyway.

Obviously, you can declare that you're not a resident from Australia, but that's not something I would recommend doing, it will just get you in trouble.
