Why everyone should take Bitcoin seriously

Over the past few days Bitcoin has delighted us with an unprecedented rise: the coin has topped its ATH several times on its way to its current one of $28000, and at the time of writing is trading at 🚀 $31700. We believe this is the best proof that it is time to take BTC seriously.

💎 What actually is Bitcoin?
It is a decentralised version of money in the same way that the internet is the decentralised version of information. It was the first form of electronic money that does not require a central entity to validate transactions. One of the main differences between BTC and all other forms of digital money that ever existed is that you don’t have to trust a third party to use it. All transactions on the BTC networks are fully transparent and traceable.

💎 How does it do this?
Instead of having a centralised database which one party (such as a bank) controls, the members of the network collectively validate the transactions and therefore check that the same money isn’t being spent twice. Disagreements are resolved by majority vote — if more than 50% of the computing power of the network validates a transaction, then it is entered into the distributed database (this consensus mechanism is called ‘proof of work’).

Early this year different experts would chime in with their forecasts for the DeFi market development, however, it is now apparent that all of them have underestimated the capabilities of the Ethereum ecosystem. 🔘 Uniswap will reach $10 billion
In 2020, the platform became the biggest DeFi decentralized application with a total value locked of more than $2.6 billion US. In 2021 the project’s TVL might grow several times. By the way, if Uniswap spikes, Ethereum price will also be affected.

🔘 ETH mining will be officially cancelled
Originally, the Ethereum blockchain used proof-of-work (PoW) mining to grow. In 2021, however, Ethereum should enter the 1.5 phase, when the ETH1 chain will be vaulted as part of the ETH2 Beacon Chain. This is when Ethereum mining will officially cease.

🔘 5% of BTC will be wrapped on the Ethereum network

What is blockchain technology?

🔸 Sasha gives Nick 5 apples to divide them between his friends.
Write down this fact in block number 2. Block 2 contains the unique identifier of block 1. Send this block to Vita, Lana, Tasha and Margo.

Write this down in block #3. Add a unique identifier of block 2 . We send a block to all users.

Anonymity and privacy are among the key advantages of digital finance, and this is why the issue of privacy is important to a lot of users. Especially when world governments are beginning to tighten the grip on people’s financial freedoms, making it more difficult to use cryptocurrencies.

Nowadays confidentiality has become a burning issue. The very idea of confidentiality these days seems closely related to cryptocurrencies, however, this is not entirely right. Confidentiality, in simple terms, can be divided into two things – anonymity and untraceability. Anonymity means it is impossible to establish the user's identity while untraceability makes his actions impossible to be traced back to him.

When it comes to confidentiality in cryptocurrencies, most of them have the ability to provide anonymity, however easy it is to lose it. Untraceability, on the other hand, is not fully achieved as through analyzing transaction logs a researcher can identify certain users if anonymity of at least one of the involved addresses has been compromised. There are a number of main methods used to achieve confidentiality in the cryptocurrency space.

🔸 Chaumian CoinJoin – method of obfuscating the transaction log by using a central operator and blind signatures

AMPLIFY continues publishing a weekly DeFi news digest. The total value locked (TVL) in DeFi is currently $23.85B, $1.85B up since this point last week. 

Zooming in on individual dapps, lending protocol Maker is still notably above the $4B TVL mark. It’s the first DeFi project to have achieved that feat as of last week, so let’s see if it can keep up the momentum and similarly be the first project to crack $5B.

The popularity of search queries related to Bitcoin has almost reached its all time high.

The number of queries for the word “Bitcoin” started growing early October 2020. At the time, Google Trends showed it was at 9% from its historical maximum, and Bitcoin was trading around $10,500. The number of people searching for information on the original cryptocurrency was growing along with its price. By January the 1st, Bitcoin reached $28,000 US, and its interest metrics were at 42% of the peak level of 2017.

Currently the popularity of this search query is at 78% of its all time high. Most often the first crypto is searched along with such words as “exchange”, “Bitcoin Cash” and “Ethereum”.

By the way, almost 95% of Internet users looking for information on crypto through Google are male. According to another search statistics analysis, just 4% of Ethereum traders are female. This data demonstrates how women are much more likely to miss out on these very important market opportunities.

However, one shouldn’t wholeheartedly trust these kinds of reports since cryptocurrency holders are anonymous, which complicates any real gender analysis. Supposedly, no less than 20% of those employed on the cryptocurrency market are women.

AMPT Token is a native token created to support the functions of Amplify. AMPT Token will be the fuel for our platform. Don’t forget that AMPLIFY is a DeFi project where the community is steering the development. The token gives voting rights to its holders. The more tokens you have, the higher the influence on the matters discussed, from roadmap decisions to token release. In today’s post we would like to remind you that AMPLIFY is a DeFi project, which means that to get the most benefit, you need to know more about DeFi!

☑️ What is decentralization? Decentralization is a process of distributing the power among all the participants of a system, without a central governing body. Today, the majority of traditional financial and state systems are centralized, and this approach is plagued with flaws. The main issue is that they have points of failure: a security breach or a central server/facility malfunction negatively affects the rest of the system.

Originally, cryptocurrency was developed as a decentralized network that has no single point of failure, which makes it democratic, more stable and efficient compared with regular money.

The technology behind decentralization in Bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies is called blockchain, and it gives every user the ability to serve as a node that checks the validity of transactions.
What do users get from decentralization? Here are a few key advantages that users get from decentralized systems:

🔘 No need to trust a central authority that might be incompetent, vulnerable to attacks, or even have ill intentions.

🔘 Less censorship. Governments often restrict their citizens’ access to various websites and social media. Censoring traffic in a peer-to-peer network is much more difficult, because every package can be sent to every other node on the network, and they will relay this data further.

🔘 Most of the applications on the network are open source. Anyone can copy some or all of the code, and create their own applications with it. The more decentralized products come out, the more advantages and opportunities open up for the network users.

🔘 Proper economic incentives. Users who support the network get rewarded for it financially. The more support they provide, the more they are rewarded.

Of course, decentralized networks have their downsides too: they are usually slower to develop, have lower adoption rate, might be more expensive or have lower efficiency at the time of launch. However, most users agree that the end result is worth the effort.

What are ETH smart contracts?

☑️ What is decentralization? Decentralization is a process of distributing the power among all the participants of a system, without a central governing body. Today, the majority of traditional financial and state systems are centralized, and this approach is plagued with flaws. The main issue is that they have points of failure: a security breach or a central server/facility malfunction negatively affects the rest of the system.

Originally, cryptocurrency was developed as a decentralized network that has no single point of failure, which makes it democratic, more stable and efficient compared with regular money.

The technology behind decentralization in Bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies is called blockchain, and it gives every user the ability to serve as a node that checks the validity of transactions.
What do users get from decentralization? Here are a few key advantages that users get from decentralized systems:

🔘 No need to trust a central authority that might be incompetent, vulnerable to attacks, or even have ill intentions.

🔘 Less censorship. Governments often restrict their citizens’ access to various websites and social media. Censoring traffic in a peer-to-peer network is much more difficult, because every package can be sent to every other node on the network, and they will relay this data further.

🔘 Most of the applications on the network are open source. Anyone can copy some or all of the code, and create their own applications with it. The more decentralized products come out, the more advantages and opportunities open up for the network users.

🔘 Proper economic incentives. Users who support the network get rewarded for it financially. The more support they provide, the more they are rewarded.

Of course, decentralized networks have their downsides too: they are usually slower to develop, have lower adoption rate, might be more expensive or have lower efficiency at the time of launch. However, most users agree that the end result is worth the effort.

We talk about the strengths and advantages of DeFi so much, it might give you an impression that this technology has no downsides. Let’s look at its less than savory side!

🚥 Full transparency of all operations, the access to the contract is free.

🚥 Accessibility in all countries, no matter the nationality, social status, or any other criteria.

🚥 High speed and low cost of transactions compared to cross-border wire transfers.

🚥 No centralized authority.

💡 DeFi has cons too. Most of them stem from the fact that this field hasn’t had much time to fully mature yet:

🚥 Risk of smart contract vulnerabilities that criminals might exploit.

🚥 Protocols might have scalability issues. For example, with the rise of the DeFi scene, the Ethereum blockchain became slower and more expensive to use.

Nevertheless, the technology’s potential leaves very little doubt that decentralized products will continue to improve, becoming more secure and featureful. AMPLIFY is a DeFi project too, and in its implementation we are looking at other projects, improving upon the existing solutions and creating our own, which makes AMPT better, more accessible, faster and more transparent!

What Is the token used for?

AMPT Token is a native token created to support the functions of Amplify. AMPT Token will be the fuel for our platform. Don’t forget that AMPLIFY is a DeFi project where the community is steering the development. The token gives voting rights to its holders. The more tokens you have, the higher the influence on the matters discussed, from roadmap decisions to token release. Decisions are made following the "majority wins" system, where 51% of the circulating AMPTs is required to approve proposals.

Tokens will also be used to increase liquidity. Mining liquidity to power the Amplify ecosystem is a key activity to support our vision. Incentives are therefore designed to reward deposit and financing loans.

📍 What do global markets look like today? A huge portion of the supply chain cannot get credit. Financial institutions hardly grant credit down the value chain (2nd and 3rd level suppliers).
Why? Traditional credit-granting mechanisms rely on the credit rating of the 1st level enterprises (core enterprises) - If and when non-core enterprises get credit, the costs associated with the grant are too high.

📍 Another problem is that it is difficult to verify the authenticity of trading transactions. Supply chain finance is based on the credit rating of core enterprises. However, financial institutions must verify the authenticity of the whole trade flow, which is expensive, inefficient and unreliable.

📍 As a result, the financing and risk costs are high. The capital liquidity is poor. Traditional financial institutions’ model is very centralized and limited to core enterprises. Non-core enterprises — especially SMEs —suffer therefore of inefficiency in credit granting, difficulties in clearing settlement, backward multi-party cooperation system and review system.

🔘 Decentralized stablecoins with each coin pegged to a fiat currency and secured with a pledge in cryptocurrency.

This is the hottest thing that is making investor and developer minds explode all over the world! Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, sold his first tweet as an NFT for millions of dollars, and the TIME magazine is selling its covers as NFTs for ETH. Let’s see what it is all about.

Non-fungible Token (NFT) — since it is NOT interchangeable, they can act as proof of authenticity and ownership in the digital realm. This feature allows using them for tokenizing intangible objects, where they serve as proof of ownership. These rights are recorded on the blockchain, which cannot be forged or altered in any way.. So, NFT has two important properties: UNIQUE and LIMITED.

NFT are issued on the Ethereum blockchain. In the NFT a lot of standards are adopted, but the most prominent of which is ERC-721. Or for example recently improved standard is ERC-1155, which allows single contracts to contain fungible and non-fungible tokens, opening up a whole new range of possibilities.

Like other tokens, NFT can be stored in a personal wallet, typically a Trust Wallet. It should be noted that NFT cannot be copied or transformed without the owner's permission - even by the NFT publisher.
