Many believe, but many are also skeptical of bitcoin.

From the very beginning of bitcoin until the last 2017 when it reached the first ATH, many people believed but after 2017, the doubts in other people’s hearts are rising. There are many negatives news and accusation you will hear and read about bitcoin. Many say this is just a scam. Many also predicted that it would not rise again but some still believed that bitcoin would rise.

Because bitcoin suddenly collapsed after 2017 ATH, many people sold their bitcoin even in losing out of fear.

Now, bitcoin proved how valuable it is. Bitcoin has risen unexpectedly and is still rising today and we do not know how far or how long it will stay on top.

Blessed are those who believe in bitcoin and are confident of waiting for its new development that will pave the way for more being more valuable. But while some are now enjoying the fruits of their patience and investing in bitcoin, others are deeply regretted because they did not save bitcoin when it was still at a low price.

Honestly, I am one of those who regret that I did not buy and hold when the price was still low, also due to lack of adequate investment. So next time I will not hesitate to buy and hold it. I just hope I have enough money to buy when its value goes down again.

What has bitcoin done to you? Is it Happiness or Regret?

There are few who will say that they do not regret something from the past when it comes to BTC, and I include myself in that group. The first time I ever heard of that name was sometime in late 2011 or early 2012 when I came across a discussion somewhere on the internet about what BTC is. Unfortunately, it took me a few more years to figure out what this was all about, and even then I didn’t fully understand the full potential that lies in that technology.

Although 2017 was the year when the price unrealistically went up, after that I no longer doubted that even bigger things would happen in the future regardless of the long crypto winter that followed. It is normal to regret some things, but we should still learn from our mistakes and make sure that they do not happen again - because it is not worth crying over spilled milk.

As for the expectation that the price will go down, it will probably happen at some point - but it is not realistic for me to expect to go back to some values that could be expressed in 4-digit numbers.

What has bitcoin done to you? Is it Happiness or Regret?

Personally and have felt from what bitcoin has done for me, which is to provide a new platform to manage our finances as widely as possible, giving the advantage of freedom of transactions without having to involve a third party.

Why didn't I say profit from bitcoin? because profit is the fruit of your hard work. Even though the advantages of bitcoin are many, not only profitable, but also an investment alternative which until now cannot be avoided by all large investors so as not to be tempted by bitcoin.

When I've heard about Bitcoin for the first time I thought it's some kind of scam. A balloon that will blow up when Satoshi get enough money. Now I regret being so dumb and suspicious  Grin

I started figuring out about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies at the end of 2017. I was shocked when BTC first time reached ATH and decided to find out about the reasons and advantages of crypto. I invested a part of my savings and tried to become a trader but I wasn't lucky. Then I've bought some more and changed my strategy and become a HODLer Smiley

I think Bitcoin and Blockchain have many advantages and we need to use them in our everyday life. We should try to include it in our medicine, economy, educational systems. I hope we could find out a way of making crypto to be more regulated so we can enjoy new opportunities.

...
Honestly, I am one of those who regret that I did not buy and hold when the price was still low, also due to lack of adequate investment. So next time I will not hesitate to buy and hold it. I just hope I have enough money to buy when its value goes down again.

...

The funny thing is, I remember reading here (and on slashdot) before it hit dollar parity that "the price was high."  People were talking about "when the price goes back down to $0.10 or $0.50" then they'd buy.  Then at dollar parity, people said pretty much the same thing:  "I regret not buy when it was still low [e.g. below $1]" and "the price is so high" and "it will drop below $1 again and collapse since it is a ponzi/scam/you name it.".

Ditto at ~$10, $30, $100, $1000, gold parity, $2000, $5000, $10000, and now at $25000.  Every time it is the same thing.  No one knows the price direction in the short term from here, it is just market timing which rarely works unless you are lucky.

If usage continues to grow both as a transactional vehicle and asset class, the price will follow.  Bitcoin's future gets brighter with each person that realizes the value proposition.  In X years will people be looking back and saying "I wish I had bought when the price was so low at $10000 or $25000"?  Probably if corporations and others keep using it to protect themselves and their shareholders.  Everyone who bought or mined any bitcoin prior to a few days ago has a profit (huge, medium or small).

The question is, did the people who at $20000 in 2017 and who were lamenting how they wanted to buy at a lower price and would do so, actually buy at $3000 in March of 2020 or did they hesitate again?  Most probably didn't buy.

Nothing significant in the past 3 years. But in 2017 Bitcoin and other cryptos made me more than my 9-5 salary, which I'm grateful to.

Now it's interesting all over again with the $20,000+ Bitcoin and DeFi.

Personally for me Bitcoin is neither happines and nor regret. Bitcoin for me is a good experience, opportunities, logic thinking, deep analysis, cold mind and silent heart. Experience - after 2017, I have realized my mistakes and got good experience. Opportunities in my opinion is clear, it is the new way of thinking, new ways of developing and so on. Deep analysis with cold mind and silent heart - because positive or negative emotions may influence on my decisions, that in crypto may be fatal. So Bitcoin for me is a good transformation for everyone. And be happy or regret it depends individually.

Bitcoin has really changed my standard of living to a better one as it has provided a good amount of profit during 2017 as well as I had certain amount of bitcoin in my blockchain wallet which I forgot for long time and when I realised it the value of Bitcoin was almost 700% more than what I had in my wallet in 2015/2016 which was really helpful at the difficult moments of my life.

I would like make it clear that regardless of fluctuations Bitcoin is future and it will not die, please ignore FUDs as they are created either out of jealousy or foolishness.

2017's bull run and the eventual collapse in 2018 really teaches us everything. Personally, I should have HODL early in 2017 and sold everything in its peak in 2017, but eventually I liquidated everything slowly in 2018 because I panic.

But it thought me a good lesson though, now I've learn to HODL in 2020. And bitcoin did a lot of positive things for me this year, specially financially, so it's really a win situation for me and I"m sure for the majority of us.

There's a lot of things that I could have regretted in relation to Bitcoin - not looking into it deeper in 2012 and 2014 when I had a chance, selling too much coins in 2016 - but what's the point of such regrets - I don't have a time machine, so I'd rather look into the future and the present and be happy with the coins that I have, especially since Bitcoin price is at the new ATH and has a potential to go higher and higher.

What Bitcoin done to you sounds same as what your parents done to you. Both are almost same, because my parents gave me life whereas bitcoin made my life. These day people aren't valued out of their respect to others, the helping nature, good character and all. Everything is connected with money, so it has also gained me good relation from high profile people.

What has bitcoin done to you? Is it Happiness or Regret?

Both things but in most part it is on Happiness because if i were to tell on how crypto did affect my life is that ive been earning crypto and it is a great help
to my daily living and thats already an achievement where you are a bit ahead compared into those people who dont have idea about crypto.
I do thank Bitcoin on what it had given into my life.It make out some changes and give out opportunities. Im not really that on the investment side
but rather an earner which means im not really much heavily affected on what would be the current trend of the market.

The 2017 ATH brought a lot of people into so much hype that they don't even understand how Bitcoin works, because they're being feed with the "get rich quick over night" kind of mentality towards the crypto investment.
A lot of them got disappointed after the 2017 bullrun.
I'm not quite sure If we're seeing the same people who invested in crypto market in 2017 today, or they totally turn their back against Bitcoin.
One thing to regret is when you don't have Btc on your wallet while the price is sky rocketing.

It's been happiness and win for me. Since I got acquainted with Bitcoin, Blockchain and other crypto related technologies in 2016, I haven't for once doubted the movement even when Bitcoin was heavily fudded by government regulations, indecisions by the developers in making useful protocol upgrades, hard forks, etc. Even when there was a "Black Thursday" market sales earlier this year due to covid-19. At the end of the day, one thing has always been clear to me - The fact that Bitcoin will always come back strong.  I mean why wouldn't it do so when there's an ever growing (and active) community.

By the way, are there anyone without regrets in crypto? Whether via investing or trading.

What has bitcoin done to you? Is it Happiness or Regret?
It's a lot and I can't count using my fingers.

I seldom when it comes to buying Bitcoin, and most of my Bitcoin that I accumulate and collected was came from joining signature in the forum, and I say, I'm really thankful that I found this forum and discover Bitcoin as well.  Until such time I learned how to trade using my rewards and fortunately, I'm able to gain profit on it even though I don't have enough experience only the knowledge that I got here in the forum.

I think no one will regret it unless those people who are lack knowledge of how Bitcoin work and get scammed with a huge amount of money.

Both feelings. The regret that I had is when I've sold earlier. That's it. Rather than selling holding it for better, I didn't anticipated that the another all-time high would come very soon. And the allowance of time when I've sold isn't that far from the time we've seen bitcoin breaking the all-time prices. It is okay to regret OP, that's how it is. If you have patience and you've held for so long, you deserve the result that you have by just holding it.

Of course, every goes on the period of learning bitcoin, when you just starting specially in this community, you really don't know how can bitcoin change your life. Maybe you earn few sats, gamble and then liquidate to fiat and feels very happy.

But as you can experience, you really know that bitcoin is a financial revolution that can change someone's life if you invest on it because of the potential that it can give you profits no other investment or assets out there. So you learn to hold, be smart investor, diversity to give you that financial freedom that we all have been dreaming for. So there could be regrets in the beginning, but as I have said in the past, this is journey, so the longer you stay, the better will be the result.

I can say YEAH, it helps me a lot in terms of financial improvement. I have such financial freedom after years of investing in Bitcoin and I am so thankful for knowing this. What I did is not be more affected in every market change, FUDs can easily make you fool and brought you nothing good in the end but losses due to wrong decisions.

If this has a good result in my life, this could also be the same with others, only we need to control our emotions and keeping ourselves positive despite dumps.

Regrets? those who have sold earlier in 2017 and then late when the bubble has been burst already in 2018. Lesson is that it's hard to time the market.

Happiness? financial rewards of course, you can start literally nothing and then earn your way, by trading and then you can be an investor, win-win specially if you have been hear for at least 4 years. That 4 years could give you lessons that will make you rich done the line.

What has bitcoin done to you? Is it Happiness or Regret?

When I look back at all the unnecessary crap I bought with bitcoins over the years -- not because I really needed to, but for the hell of it -- I definitely get some pangs of regret. The friend that got me into Bitcoin has even more severe stories than me. He used to spend a few bitcoins a week buying eighths of weed from Silk Road. Tongue

On the other hand, I'm happy that Bitcoin helped me realize financial freedom. I'm happy that I managed to turn a couple close friends onto it, so ditto for them. I'm happy that I managed to hold onto a few coins over the years, even if I regret spending dozens and dozens.
