Hello, I'm new here and so apologize in advance for any protocol errors.

Several years ago someone gave me a physical 2011 series II Casascius btc. I now would like to sell it and am unsure of the best way.
I've seen a couple over the years on ebay as a collector's item. But I also know I could sell through an exchange.

So my questions are:

How do I sell safely on ebay if I choose that option? (I live in Canada which does present some problems with selling out of country)

Which exchange (and wallet) is the safest and you would recommend?

Thank you for any and all comments and your help.

Cheers.

If your coin is loaded with bitcoin, that mean you have some forked shitcoin also which worths to claim. Anyway, you can sell your CASACIUS 1 BTC through collectibles section and get BTC for that. I don't know the other way to claim the loaded balance though.

If you want to sell the whole thing (coin+balance) then sell it the same way you'd sell any other physical item... Ebay, craigslist, the collectibles section here on Bitcointalk etc...

If you're just wanting to cash out the BTC, then Ebay isn't an option. You'd need to expose the private key on the coin, import that into a wallet and then send the balance to an exchange. For a wallet I would suggest Electrum or Wasabi... can't really comment on exchanges as there are a number of issues around location/country etc.

AFAIK, it contains a mini private key format.
If so, this post from 'stack exchange' may be the one you're looking for if you are planning to sell the bitcoins in an Exchange:

I don't know of any exchange that would allow you to buy/sell these physical collectibles. You can however redeem the private key, deposit the BTC to an exchange like Coinbase/Gemini/Kraken, and sell it there. I would suggest against doing that though because you will get more bang for your buck if you sell it as a collectors item. Don't peel the hologram though if you do plan to sell it as a collectors item. Cheesy

Perhaps you could post a sales / auction thread here with a price you have in mind and go from there.
