Hello, a few years ago we had a problem with the Electrum wallet, for a while we have entered Electrum with the seed provided initially, but when downloading the wallet on another PC and entering our data, the transactions have disappeared, as if nothing had existed there .
At the beginning we thought it was a Bitcoin theft, but we have verified that the address on the blockchain has the same value as we had.
I have managed to open the wallet as read-only but it is useless since I cannot operate with the coins we have.
Can anybody help me?

I don't know why but this is the third topic I've seen on a similar problem today. A suggestion I read is that your seed might be 2FA. So try to create a new Electrum wallet, choose 2FA, and import the seed. See if that recovers the funds.

Unlikely to be an issue... Electrum automatically detects the seed "type"... it'll tell you right on the seed entry screen what the seed type is. If you initially select "Standard" wallet and then enter a "2FA" seed, it'll automatically switch to recovering a 2FA wallet.

If I had to guess, I would guess that it's a BIP39 seed and derivation path issue... or possibly a multisig?

@duemay, does your old address start with a "1" or a "3"? Huh

Is the other PC's Electrum connected after you restored the Seed phrase?
The connection icon below should be a green circle.
Because if it's newly installed, there may be a delay before it can display the wallet's balance.
Or if the version is too low, it will not connect to the network at all.

You can also check the address tab (View->Show Addresses) if your address is listed there.

The most likely issue would be the wrong address type.
Does the address which with the BTC and the addresses in your "new recovered" electrum wallet start with the same character (1.., 3.. or bc1..) ?

If not, you need to choose the correct script type when restoring your wallet:
  • P2PKH to restore addresses starting with 1..
  • P2WPKH-P2SH to restore addresses starting with 3..
  • P2WPKH to restore addresses starting with bc1..

I have managed to open the wallet as read-only but it is useless since I cannot operate with the coins we have.

How? By importing the address? If so, this is the wrong approach.
You need to import the correct mnemonic code or private key.

The most likely issue would be the wrong address type.
Unless the OP has generated a BIP39 seed somewhere else, that shouldn't be an issue.
Electrum automatically detects the seed type if it's electrum's seed.
For example, you cannot generate legacy addresses using a seed that has initially been generated for a segwit wallet.

Since we are talking about an Electrum seed phrase, then restoring the wrong derivation path, wrong address type, 2FA, etc. are all non-issues, since Electrum seed phrases have their specifications built in.

Restore your wallet with the seed phrase and check the addresses tab. If the addresses are correct and match the addresses in your watch-only wallet but are not showing any balance, then it's simply a sync issue. If the addresses are incorrect, then you have restored the wrong wallet. In that case the issue is either you chose to "Extend this seed with custom words" and have forgotten to enter them, or are restoring the wrong seed phrase altogether.
