Good point about the memory temperature, I think that is another limitation of SMOS. Perhaps it’s worthwhile to switch to HiveOS. What would you say is an acceptable temperature for memory, anything under 100°?
Anything below 95°C is fine to run 24h
I'm using a Gigabyte 5700xt and the temperature here is 92°C on memories, my country is hot and there's nothing I can do to reduce, and it's running 100% for months
I'll give you a link to Igor's lab with more technical info:
https://www.igorslab.de/en/gddr6-memory-temperatures-comprehensibly-explained-and-remeasured-is-amd-doing-everything-right-basics/Things to consider before worry about temps:
You're mining, so you're using 100% of your memory, for games it's hard to hit 100%, so your temp will be higher obviously
Some people tests Vram temps only in a PC well ventilated, but with 1 GPU, if you're using a rig of 3 or more cards, you'll have more heat
Maybe you don't live in a cold country, so your temps will be higher
It's always good to reduce temps, with more fans, or more space between GPUs, but let's be honest, it's hard to broke a card due to temperature nowadays, the card will reduce hashrate or even turn off before failure
