A customer asked me a question that made me consider posting this.
The rainbow steel can be seen in different lights that give different outcomes.
Generally the angle, lighting, or combinations of light give DIFFERENT outcomes of how the steel piece looks.
Here is a simple example:
EXAMPLE 1: First example has very little light and is at a specific angle to the light source which produces not much color.
Note - you can get some color in this instance if you hold the piece at an angle or view it at specific angles. Give it a try.EXAMPLE 2: Second example is just using natural sunlight. You can play with light sources and angles to get very different outcomes. From my personal experience the picture/colors never look identical from picture to picture under different circumstances (light, angle, combinations of light/shadow).
EXAMPLE 3: This 3rd example is from an indoor photo OP under controlled light source/angle.
The general takeaway is that for rainbow steel it is all about the situational lighting/shadows/position of each the light source and the steel.
