What altcoins/s do you think will trigger the alt season?

I don't know how to put this but we've seen other alts continue to rally up this 2020 but I think it's different from what we've seen in 2017 were there are massive gains from alts. Can we still expect something like that especially this year 2021 and what do you think is the altcoins/s that may trigger the alt season (redundancy at it's finest)?

Let's see what we need to have a big pump:
- coins listed on big exchanges: centralized coins and privacy coins are currently at a disadvantage because of SEC and stuff.
- good promotor (or community).

Since coins that have good promotion usually centralized, atm I don't think any of the top-50 altcoins is a good candidate. Maybe a new community coin the like of dogecoin but with a more serious tone will appear out of nowhere.

bitcoin, if bitcoin dominance goes down this will be good for altcoins. no altcoin will ever break ATH before bitcoin dominance wanes. and ripple too, maybe this is bad for them. but the SEC case had a positive impact on other altcoins. look since XRP crashed, there have been a lot of altcoins going up. this means people are starting to sell their XRP to buy better coins. if more exchanges delisted XRP, this would be good for other altcoins.

I don't think so, seeing this a couple of weeks now but whenever Bitcoin gets some corrections it really hurts to most altcoins. I don't know if the current drama along XRP makes it good for other altcoins but that one has big impact for other altcoins to decline.

We can still expect to see some massive gains from altcoins, but the gains will not be too big if the bitcoin price does not increase more than $30k. The altcoins themselves still search for the right moment to increase, and the altcoin trying to increase step by step. It will be different than what we saw in 2017, but the altcoin season will still coming in the future.

of course Ethereum, because if the price of altcoin increases very high (bull run) in 2021, then I believe Ethereum will definitely be the first for its price to increase very high and I also haven't seen that the price of Ethereum has reached its ATH. so there is still a chance for you to invest in Ethereum, because if the price of Ethereum has reached its ATH or even more, then of course you can get a big profit from investing in Ethereum.

If you are looking for early signs of alt season, look to the price action of Ethereum, I think Ethereum is the one of coin can to trigger to begins of the altcoin season.
you can also generally look for a divergence in the market cap of Bitcoin and alts, and you can also look at BTC market dominance trends.

Seriously I don't know if we can see anything like that of 2017 again or even if there be will something close to it, it will be limited to very few coins and it will be coins with good and attractive use cases. Also, if there are to be altcoin season then the first thing that would likely happen is the dominance of Bitcoin dropping meaning less attention/funds are now on it and channelled to altcoins, but the thing is, the dominance is pretty high and it's growth has been encouraging so far, therefore I wouldn't be to sure more attention will be moved to altcoins such that it would spike a massive altcoin season. Lastly, assuming all things works out, then altcoins that will trigger the altcoin season will be Ethereum, LTC, ADA and so on, I doubt the potentials of new altcoins nowadays.

The correct answer is when Bitcoin will trigger the altcoin season. Without bitcoin, there is no altcoin season but the altcoin space, Ethereum is a giant in this space with many pairs that has Ethereum as a standard.

Ethereum if successfully break out, will cause a massive pump of ERC20 tokens and many altcoins that don't use ERC20 chain will join the pump. It is the time for altcoin season. As I said, the prerequisite is bitcoin, not Ethereum.

Altcoins can pump when Bitcoin starts trading side ways. It can happen anytime this month. In my opinion there are a few altcoins that can pump, one of them is surely Ethereum, the next in my opinion would be DeFi based project like YFI. Exchange tokens like BNB have shown the could easily reach more than $40 as few days back BNB reached it ATH of $39.

It should be ethereum which will trigger the price of most altcoin but the sad thing is even ethereum is not rallying up when the bullish trend is on the go for a very long time. So only bitcoin can help to trigger the prices of altcoins but after every cycle the effect of rise gets due to lot of factors like scam projects, clone projects, regulations.

The altcoin rally in 2017 was incredible. I think it is very unlikely to experience the same again. Bitcoin is currently receiving very good investments. Altcoins can rise again when Bitcoin reaches the target price

i dont think bitcoin is an altcoin and back years , there are altcoins that reached ath with bitcoin staying still the same or dumping but there are times where alts wait for the go signal of btc before they start increasing but this time they acted so differently .

thats odd if a bad news like that brings good news to others . its like we need to sacrifice something to benefit the other but the sacrifice isnt that worthy enough so i think its fine just for the sake of seeing good altcoins rise . i cant think of any alt that can trigger a bull for alt except eth  or waves but nothing happens after eth pump .

I think ones the alts season begins it will come in a sudden and there won't be any particular alt that will initiate it, although I did not pay attention to 2017 bull run closely with regards to this but am pretty sure btc was always the initiator of the bull market but now things have changed.

I think the altcoin session may come between January and February. The price of Bitcoin is increasing day by day but Bitcoin domain is less than that. Altcoin hasn't pumped that much yet. It may be a good time to enter for good coins. I bought some coins. Currently I am at a good profit.

Things will take an unexpected turn once dominance start decreasing, I'm expecting this to happen by February 2021, I don't believe that Bitcoin can hit 50,000$ this time around but fingers crossed for now, altcoin season will start looking interesting once bitcoin reach it's max and whales will start buying altcoins instead

As I said, the prerequisite is bitcoin, not Ethereum.

I think if we see a massive correction on Bitcoin that may trigger other altcoins to surge but that's still a speculation but a possibility since some are eyeing on altcoins considering Bitcoin is in overbought state.

I've never heard of altcoin project triggering the whole altcoin season, that's way too much I believe, not even Ethereum is capable of that, the reason why bitcoin is the first is because of adoption and performance, that's 2 in 1 and bitcoin controls the whole crypto market because it has the highest liquidity and volume too, it's only bitcoin that can drive or trigger altcoin season

The altcoin season is unpredicted because bitcoin still not reaching the high price, although the $28k-$29k is a high price to us for now. Maybe the altcoin season needs to wait for more until bitcoin price can jump to $30k-$35k and then the altcoin season will start. But we will not know which altcoin that can start as the first altcoin that can increase. But I am sure that the altcoin season will come, and we need to wait for that. Maybe ethereum can be the first coin that can soar and reach the peak price or other coin.
