I don't know how to put this but we've seen other alts continue to rally up this 2020 but I think it's different from what we've seen in 2017 were there are massive gains from alts. Can we still expect something like that especially this year 2021 and what do you think is the altcoins/s that may trigger the alt season (redundancy at it's finest)?
I'm going to get hate for this but XRP regularity clarity will launch altseason.

As opposed to what though? Regulatory non-clarity? What the SEC has said to me seems pretty much very clear already, which is the main reason big exchanges are delisting XRP by now. I mean, sorry to say but I cannot see a way back for Ripple from this. Nail after nail in the coffin of centralized altcoins.

I think ethereum, because ethereum is the king of altcoins. if ethereum can break ATH, it will have an impact on other altcoins especially the coins that are on their network. just look at every time ethereum goes up it becomes a marker for another altcoin. what happens with ethereum it will have a sizeable impact on the altcoin market.

I am not sure there are altcoins that can trigger an alt season, usually alt season occurs because of the declining dominance of Bitcoin
in the market. If you look at the dominance of Bitcoin which is still increasing, even now it has reached 70%. Then the alt season won't
happen, but I believe the alt season will occur in 2021. Maybe around the middle of 2021 the domination of Bitcoin will decrease, and
gives altcoins the opportunity to pump.

I mean, sorry to say but I cannot see a way back for Ripple from this. Nail after nail in the coffin of centralized altcoins.

American exchanges do not want to have problems with the SEC, so they suspend XRP trading. On a different path went the Kucoin exchange, which conducts the distribution of 100 thousand dollars for those who make a deposit on this exchange in XRP: https://www.kucoin.com/news/en-for-blockchain-trade-deposit-xrp-on-kucoin-to-share-100000-usdt Activity Period: From December 29, 2020 to January 4, 2021. So it's too early to bury XRP.

As I said, the prerequisite is bitcoin, not Ethereum.
I think if we see a massive correction on Bitcoin that may trigger other altcoins to surge but that's still a speculation but a possibility since some are eyeing on altcoins considering Bitcoin is in overbought state.
A massive correction from bitcoin can trigger a massive rally of altcoins as bitcoin has risen too much and has not yet stop after many weeks. Corrections happened but not much dip and bitcoin rallied, then rose more after each correction so far. Altcoins were restrained too much by bitcoin.

Another possibility is bitcoin won't be corrected too much but it sets a very stable price range and make a safe feeling for investors. They won't see any risks of massive dumps, massacres, they will buy altcoins. Altcoins will be bought up as they see more profits from altcoins when bitcoin is stagnant.

This season of the digital currency has taken growth only for Bitcoin and few more altcoins like; Chainlink, SNX, BNT, and some more. But, still, it is facing very sluggishness in the altcoin market and not repeating 2017 bull-like. In the year 2017, there was more gambling with speculation and less for investment purposes. But, now the trader and the investor become wise about the altcoins and investing wisely so the altcoins which are more speculative then now become useless with no trade. So, it will be a very wise decision to invest only in the top50 or top40 coins.

For me Ethereum is currently the king of altcoins, I think Ethereum will have a big impact on the altcoin season even though it's quite difficult. Altcoin season must also be affected by Bitcoin starting to stabilize.

Ethereum will be the starter of altcoin season. Many defis were built on it and if it starts to pump, it will bring out others. It doesn't seem that we're going to see the same pattern as what we've used to see before for altcoins.
There is a low chance that we won't see the altcoin season just like before. Each good altcoin good pump but it won't be a lot anymore, pumping one by one.

It is commonly happening like ETH always has a trigger on alts, whenever it makes a move the whole market suddenly starts to move. I would say bitcoin has made a lot of news this year but the fact that ETH made even more profit to people who bought at the start of the season should tell you something, if you had ETH instead of BTC you would have made a lot more money.

We still all remember when ethereum phase 0 news broke out and launchpad was opened so that people could invest their ETH for the eth 2.0, it was I think early November if I am not wrong, or maybe late October give or take those were the days and said 3rd December will be the end of it and they will need some ETH tied there. As soon as news broke out, the whole market suddenly started to go up like crazy, first it was ETH directly then Bitcoin as the biggest and after that all other altcoins became higher too.
