Bitcoin's ever-rising fees has led many people towards altcoins with faster transaction confirmation times and cheaper fees. There are many coins each with their own consensus algorithms and features for scalability. Yet, some of them differ when it comes to the amount of fees charged per transaction. Some altcoins charge as low as 1 cent per transaction, while others are fractions of a cent. This is a very economic model that will encourage further spending on decentralized blockchain networks. Whenever ridiculously low fees will compromise the security of the underlying blockchain network or not, it's yet to be seen.

Among the many cryptocurrencies listed on the market, which do you think has the cheapest fees in the world? A side-by-side comparison would be ideal. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

You can get a comparison table with blockchair.com: https://blockchair.com/compare and customize the list of cryptocurrency for comparison. That site does not provide too many cryptocurrency at the moment.

I would prefer to use Dogecoin, Litecoin, XRP (LOL, maybe you don't have good personal feeling with XRP if you get loss with its drama) and TRON (TRX) for my transactions.

When I move my USDT, I choose the TRON (TRX) and in other situations, it depends on the available currencies on the platforms I withdraw funds from or deposit my funds to, I will choose one from Dogecoin, Litecoin or XRP. When I move my funds with altcoins, I don't move big funds. It is a small batch of fund for some expense payments. If I want to move big funds, I definitely will go with bitcoin.

Take a look at IOTA, a DLT oriented to the IoT and Machine to Machine Economy in which fees are prohibitive since data transacted may have a very small value. Unlike Bitcoin, Eth, and others, IOTA uses a DAG as a data structure. Right now a novel decentralized consensus model based on nodes voting on conflicting transactions is being tested in testnet and will be pushed to mainnet this year.

This is a serious project with qualified researchers and developers. No hype, just focus on the vision.

Agreed as far as i know that IOTA, NANO and any DAG platforms were not using the stakers or miners to validate the transaction.
I remember that we have discussed about this so many times and DAG coin was the best mechanism that can provide almost or even zero transaction fees with a very good scalability. The tx can be delivered instantly too.

There are hundreds of ALT coins for this purpose of faster transaction with low fees. Suggesting one of them will be injustice for the others. For newbies, you can go for LTC. For others, they should use masternode coins as these have faster transactions than the standard coins.

I always do LTC and DOGE for my alt transactions and convertions. If I want to transfer BTC to another exchange for example, I convert it to DOGE and then do the transfer then I will buy it with BTC. Sounds stupid but trust me, I have already made more gains with doing this method than all the others. Anyway, whatever your tactic is as long as it gives you more profit. Just be always nosy when it comes to doing the transactions.

Within major cryptocoins i recommend trx and litecoin for their low transaction fee with super fast transaction speed.

Doge coins are also faster and lower to transact, although a lot of lower coins I prefer doge to transact, because at this time ethereum is having a lot of problems with gas fees which are quite expensive in recent times, so many people are turning to other coins. .

The average block time of Dogecoin is 1 minute: https://blockchair.com/dogecoin. It is not the fastest coin in transaction speed but one of the cheapest. One Dogecoin is trading with price $0.008977. I try to check the withdrawal on Binance and the transaction fee is 50 Dogecoin that equals to $0.449 for one withdrawal. I am sure it is not cheapest withdrawal methods.

With TRON (TRX), the withdrawal fee is 1.31 TRX or $0.0389

It is withdrawal fee but the withdrawal fee is connected to transaction fee.

I've heard of Nano before to have the cheapest / free fee for transactions.

https://nano.org/get-nano

I haven't owned any of it nor did any transaction on it. But if that's the description they say, holders and investors or supporters of it can testify that it has free fees for every transaction.

But how it can maintain its network if it is free?

Nano is pretty good for micropayments because of its fee-lees model. Transactions settle almost instantly across the network, making it a better alternative than XRP. The real issue is security/reliability as a fee-less model encourages transaction spamming and many other network interruptions. Miners/delegates/representatives won't feel inclined into Nano as much as they would on other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum. Most cryptocurrencies charge fees to users in order to preserve security/reliability.

Coins with a fee-less structure (like EOS and NANO) might not last for long as they become flooded with spam transactions risking the security/reliability of the entire network. It's why I prefer coins like XRP and Stellar. While they charge fees per transaction, they're much more reliable than others (especially Stellar). I'd prefer to pay a low fee instead of paying nothing knowing that my transaction will go through as intended without any interruptions whatsoever. Until fee-less cryptocurrencies become proven enough for widespread use in the mainstream world, traditional cryptocurrencies will continue to dominate the market.

Nonetheless, it's good to know that there are many coins with cheap fees in the crypto/Blockchain space. Fee-less cryptocurrencies are the cheapest ones in the world, but they come at a cost to the end user. You'd be sacrificing decentralization/reliability for convenience. It's why I'm on the hunt for coins that charge the lowest fees in the world, instead of those whose transactions are completely free. As long as fees are less than a penny in terms of Fiat (USD), you can make micropayments without breaking the bank in a safe and secure way. Time will tell us which coins will remain cheaper to use than Bitcoin, as adoption grows in the mainstream world. Just my opinion Smiley

That's very convenient. Thanks for letting me know. This could save me a lot of money when doing day trading at Binance exchange. Bitcoin's high fees makes day trading unpractical. After all, withdrawing BTC from Binance costs you an average of $5 USD. On other coins like TRX and BEP20-based tokens, the fees are ridiculously low. Not to mention, transactions settle almost instantly on the blockchain. I'm glad to know there's a BEP20 version of BTC on Binance Smart Chain. You can enjoy low fees and fast transaction speeds with this Bitcoin-pegged token. With this in mind, Bitcoin's scalability issues will no longer be a concern to the average person. Smiley

I have not tried or used Nano but I have heard that they charge no fee for transfers or payments and are also fast. Among the traditional players I think Tron is the cheapest fee network atleast among the ones i have used.

The last quarter of 2020 was great for cryptocurrencies. People invested in cryptocurrencies and did some research.
Here, the cheapest fees attract people's attention. If I have to give a suggestion, I think the most suitable coin in this regard is Litecoin.

Look at ALIAS (prev. XSPEC) | Anonymous | PoSv3 & PoAS | Tor | Ring Signatures.

This is an anonymous cryptocurrency for POS mining, the speed is high, and the commission is minimal!

You can buy ALIAS and send it anonymously at high speed with a minimum commission.

In what case should an investor need transfer, a day trader aren't consistent in transferring coin nor a long term investor.
Transfer had only been needed when withdrawing to fiat/local currency, and as such there are some specific coins used for that, btc, eth, xrp, ltc, bch. Any out of these can only be needed maybe when a trader need to perform arbitrage trading meanwhile this isn't working in the industry any longer. Also transfer is needed for bounty hunters and airdrop participants which sometimes often require gas fee to claim their token.
However, coins with low transfer fees are XRP, Atom, and sometimes LTC which are often faster.

There are many cryptocurrencies out there on the market with dirt cheap fees. Basically any altcoin is cheaper than Bitcoin for daily payments. Some are free, while others charge a ridiculously low fee per transaction. To my surprise, old coins like Litecoin and Dogecoin are highly inexpensive to use for micropayments. Their blockchain networks are fast too, making them great alternatives to traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The real issue is not the fee per transaction, but rather the level of adoption of an specific cryptocurrency. If a coin is dirt cheap to use for daily payments, but lacks adoption/use cases, then it'll be worthless. That's why it's important to choose a cryptocurrency with low fees that's well-adopted in the mainstream world. Dogecoin is a good low-fee coin, but it's not as heavily adopted as Litecoin is. At least, both blockchain networks (LTC and DOGE) are constantly maintained by their communities. This will keep them alive for a very long time.

Nonetheless, it seems to me that the cheapest coins in the world (besides fee-less coins like EOS and Nano) are those which make use of the DPoS consensus algorithm. BitShares and ARK are one of the fastest and cheapest cryptocurrencies in the world right now. They never hit a ceiling when it comes to processing thousands of transactions per second (TPS). Of course, they're less decentralized than Bitcoin or Ethereum. But they're certainly a better option than heavily-centralized coins like XRP or EOS. As mainstream adoption for crypto grows, coins that were once cheap, will turn out to become expensive in the long run. It's all a matter of scaling the Blockchain network at a constant rate in order to maintain fees as low as possible. Just my opinion Smiley

USDT
Do you know that the USDT token in tron blockchain is 100% free in most of the exchanges? if you Widhraw USDT using TRC20 Protocol from Binance, Hotbit and (there are many websites) you'll be charged nothing. it is 100% zero transaction fee.
if you have 100 USDT in your exhange account. you'll receive same 100 USDT wherever you withdraw them.
So USDT TRC20 is winner for me.

Note: Sending USDT through Tronlink require 1 TRX fee which is just $0.03 now so USDT is the winner.

infact all tokens in Tron blockchain including TRX itself has very low fee.

Are you serious about absolutely no need for ordinary gas or nano? or only certain coins / tokens. give me more details so I can see it as I know XRP is the cheapest coin to charge gas
Yes, nano needs almost zero fees to did a transaction and DAG is not the same like blockchain which needs nodes to validate the transaction. We have so many explanations from the various articles that why DAG is better than ripple. Ripple is not the cheapest coin to did a transaction. You should take a look at nano and IOTA.

yeah that was true that there are more cheaper alternatives to ripple and we dont know most of them but we that already use ripple i think its not necesarily to move from those coins because by using ripple the fees are already cheap .

afaik in my long years of using ripple for transactions , it dont force me to pay over a dollar or two  and most importantly is that ripple is accepted or available anywhere else  .
