Ok Im in the proccess of reading posts to see if I can figure out what Ive done, I though I might aswell post up muy problem just incase someone knows exactly how to help me.

Ok im a newb at using armory, Ive been using a wallet on bitbargain up to now. I downloaded armory yesterday and ran it on my pc, I then generated an address in the wallet to receive coins, I then purchased coins and sent them to the wallet address. No coins appeared and I notoiced the wallet was offline.

I did some digging and realised you need to have armory on 2 pc's and also have bitcoin core installed, Ive since installed armory on the 2nd pc and also installed bitcoin core and it says its working and I should now be able to see my transactions.

Ive made a copy of the wallet I made and put it on a memory stick and Ive now got the same 2 wallets on each pc, thing is it says both wallets are offline, Im now lost on what to do to find my coins?

Ive checked blockchain and my coins are unspent.

Your armorylog.txt says "Armory Version : 0.96", did you downloaded it from bitcoinarmory.com instead of btcarmory.com?
Because the latter is where you can download the latest version.

I did some digging and realised you need to have armory on 2 pc's and also have bitcoin core installed, Ive since installed armory on the 2nd pc and also installed bitcoin core and it says its working and I should now be able to see my transactions.

That's not quite correct. You do not need to have Armory installed on 2 PC's... that is only required if you wish to use an "online+offline airgapped PC" setup... You can definitely have Armory working fine using just one PC.

However, you are correct that you definitely need to have Bitcoin Core installed and fully synced (and not running in "pruned" mode).

Yes. If you don't have Bitcoin Core installed and fully synced, then Armory will not function correctly... at the very least, it will likely not show your transaction history or correct balance.

This is the software I download on the 3rd and generated the address from, I can download again, Im pretty sure it was from the same site you gave me. The 0.96 was on the other pc with bitcoin  core.

Unfortunately, this is a problem. You do not have Bitcoin Core installed, synced and running on this machine.


I would suggest you focus on getting Armory and Bitcoin Core installed and running on ONE computer... and then you can move to a 2 computer setup later if you want the added security of the online+offline airgapped setup.

That's a good start... now, is Bitcoin Core fully synced and not running in "pruned" mode? That is to say, do you have the 350+ gigs worth of blockchain downloaded? And if so, what is the "datadir" that Bitcoin Core shows in the "Window -> Information" screen?

Ok, in that case, Bitcoin Core and Armory are using the "default" locations for everything... that's very useful and means you don't need to worry about configuring any of the "pathing" stuff

Now you just need to wait for Bitcoin Core to fully sync up... once that happens then you should be able to run Armory without issue.

Within Bitcoin Core, can you please look at the following menu:

"Settings -> Options -> Main"

Is the box labelled "Prune block storage to XX GB" checked or unchecked? Given your drive is less than the total Blockchain size, it sounds like your Bitcoin Core is running in "pruned" mode... Unfortunately, Armory will not work correctly if Bitcoin Core is "pruned"

You will need to more your Bitcoin Core datadir to a larger drive so it can hold the full blockchain before Armory will work correctly. You don't need to uninstall Bitcoin Core... you can simply start Bitcoin Core using the -choosedatadir option and it will automatically prompt you to select a new location for the datadir.

You can achieve this by pressing "Win+R" and entering:

When the dialog comes up... click the option that says "use a custom data directory:"... and make sure that the box at the bottom labelled: "Discard blocks after verification" is NOT CHECKED! (This is the option that enables pruning, so you must ensure it is NOT selected!"

Note: Bitcoin Core won't download the "remainder", it will sync from start all over again.
Also, you need to close it and run again after unchecking the box to disable pruning.
