What have changes to the Crypto World since 2018?

I left the crypto world at the mid-2018, after reading several prediction stating that "the bubble will burst at 2020". But, it turns out to be the opposite. Now, I started to follow back the crypto world, logging in to my wallet and surprised about the value now!

I was wondering, so many new altcoin has been using Etherium network, and is it true that there's no more new altcoin that is minable?

Or, appreciate it if someone would explain in simple word. It seems to be completely new to me now!

First of all predictions are not accurate so no need to trust any of them and make decisions with your own money. Look what is the result for not giving attention to such shits.

The altcoin is a term used to call every cryptocurrency other than bitcoin so it consists of everything from tokens and coins. If you see a project is using ethereum network or some other coin's network then it is actually a token, not a coin.

PoW and PoS are the two categories of cryptos were existed, bitcoin is based on PoW (Proof of Work) so the coin is mineable and the other one PoS (Proof of Stake) is premised.

The biggest change we see right now to 2018 is that so many more people swichted into bitcoins and the crypto world. The number of traders and investors increased drastically. And also the type of investors changed, we see a lot more instituional investors right now, much more than 2 years ago. The money these invesotrs can put into the market is much higher also.

First of all  you must at least Try to stay more and observe because this is what Newbie do , and considering that your Newbie now then better Not to push things faster .

ANd it wasn't true that there are no Mineable Altcoin but they are not profitable now because of the Bitcoin Dominance .

And also why finding altcoin when Bitcoin is just waiting outside to be invested ?

Welcome to the community Back ,2 years is a Long time to even have nothing update from the Biggest online community in the world now.
What changes is that Bitcoin is more dominating than altcoin now ,and also ICO is totally dead though it start dying even before you miss the community .

Actually, as far as I know, there were a lot of altcoins (tokens) on the Ethereum network in 2018 as well. I don't believe much has changed since then. Some projects have failed (most of them, to be precise) and some have survived and are now recording a growth trend. It's not true that there are no more new altcoins that can be mined, it's just a question of how profitable it is.

There are still new altcoins that choose to become PoW and there are too many altcoins that are popping everywhere. If there's no more mineable altcoin then there would be no more gpu and cpu miners.

2017-2018 are far from what we have today. Those years were hype and icos.

This year and last, is full of adoption from institutions.

There is a huge difference in 2017 pump and 2018 dump right now.
The 2017 pump didn't have enough back up so it collapse in 2018 but this time 2020 pump have so many big names or company that bought it,
So it wouldn't easily fall down like 2018 it could also be the other way around instead of falling down due to the big names that came in it could continue to climb up.
