If there's no purpose or whatsoever, you maybe just wasting your resources here. Because you also need to know if the dev of this coin has solid plans to list in exchanges. Because a lot of projects have never see the light of exchanges. So in effect, you will just be wasting your time mining the coin for no reason.

Exactly. It is easy (relatively speaking) to clone bitcoin/litecoin repo and start a chain. Without a purpose, it is going to just be throwing away hash power.
