BTC Transfer Issue

I am trying to transfer BTC funds from an old nano ledger S. It’s on firmware 1.5.5 and I'm not able to update the firmware safely without the recovery phrase (which I don't have). Is there a way I can transfer the bitcoin to Electrum despite it being an older firmware update? I tried setting up the wallet a few times but the BTC balance never shows up. Thank you to anyone who can help.

I don't think having an old firmware should affect your balance.

Did you try connecting the wallet directly through Electrum itself? Standard Wallet -> Use a hardware wallet.

Do you recognize the addresses? Do you your transaction history (and any outgoing transaction etc...)?

You might be using an old version of Electrum?
If you use the old version of Electrum it won't show the balance because all versions below 3.3.4 are all disconnected due to phishing attacks

Use the latest version of Electrum download them directly from https://electrum.org/#download

And try to set up the wallet again for your ledger nano.

I'm confused as to where in the process that you're having issues? Does Electrum actually recognise the Nano S device when you create the wallet using "Standard Wallet -> Use a hardware wallet"?

Are you able to get the wallet created and it's a "syncing" issue?
