Dear users, please help me to find a solution to my problem.

17.7.2020 about 10:00 am CET I made a bitcoin transaction from my old wallet (Bitcoin QT V.0.8.5. beta) to new Blockchain.com wallet.

I generate request link to my Blockchain wallet(19yXZeABqCEmYHx8mdL7JapvkfLLUXrFf1) doublecheked and send 0.04627068 BTC from my old wallet 1PxbkNHMKXxrZP8KnJTYaG64VwDnchr9ri. Link: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1PxbkNHMKXxrZP8KnJTYaG64VwDnchr9ri And Instead of receiving 0,0451 btc ( 0.0462 - 0.0011(transaction fee)) I received only 0,0011 btc.

In old wallet transaction window the adress is correct but instead, it was sent to 1Cb5Hk4FyY7wvTNkfZJCgdnCaj6tmgYh61
Also the transaction status is Unconfirmed.

Please help me find the solution, I'll appreciate your help with an extra fee for you.

P.s. I have all printscreens if you need.

Thanx in advance

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Your transaction fee was 0.0001BTC, not 0.0011BTC.

You should upgrade your Bitcoinqt, the latest version is 0.20.1. Both transactions are untouched and there isn't any other transactions in the wallet. Are you sure you were using Blockchain.info? Did you doublecheck the address you sent to after creating the URI request? You should have received either 0.001BTC or 0.04517068BTC.

Why did you not realise the error after sending the funds? It has been nearly 6 months.

Thank you for answering!

Ill try to upgrade - it may help? May be its all because I dont have downloaded all blocks? (but it will take a lot of time and space because its about 6 years to download)
Yes I use Blockchain.info and doublechecked the adress (as I said in transaction window the adress is correct)
You are right I recieved 0,001 BTC
I realise error immediately and reported it to Blockchain support - it took very long time to communicate with them, I spoke with 4 admins and after 6 mounths they said they cant help, so I try it here...

Do you have control of this address: 1Cb5Hk4FyY7wvTNkfZJCgdnCaj6tmgYh61 if yes you can move to your favorite address if no, who one has its control? If it was typo etc, I think it’s unaccessible.

Please help me find the solution

If I understand your problem correctly, you made that transaction.

0.001   BTC went to 1Jxw*
0.045+ BTC went to 1Cb5*
0.0001 BTC was the fee

So 0.0011 is the amount you've sent out + the fee (total)
And I expect that the missing 0.045+ BTC should be in a change address in your Bitcoin core wallet (if you didn't remove/change/overwrite the correct file).

What I would do:

1. Make a copy of wallet.dat from you data dir ( see https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory ) into a safe place as backup.
Make sure that Bitcoin Core is fully stopped when you do that.
Make sure you understand what safe copy means (it doesn't mean dropbox, gmail or such; another place on your HDD + one more copy onto usb stick would be nice)

2. Sync your BitcoinCore if you have enough HDD space for it (300 GB) and time. It's the easiest.
Alternatively, if you don't have the time you'll need guidance about pruning or about finding out the private key of 1Cb5* and importing that into a SPV (light) wallet like Electrum.

PS. Please don't blame me if my assumptions were wrong.

I dont have private key of 1Cb5*
1Cb5Hk4FyY7wvTNkfZJCgdnCaj6tmgYh61 is probably your change address and you should be able to export its private key.

Go to console and enter the following command.

Code:
dumpprivkey 1Cb5Hk4FyY7wvTNkfZJCgdnCaj6tmgYh61

Problem is I dont have enough space (now its about 6 years of blocks) and I need a guidance about pruning ( I use Bitcoin Core wallet)

Keep in mind that pruning still downloads all those 300GB (minus what you already have), hence it's still slow.

Exporting the private key is faster, but then you have to make more security precautions: at least make sure you download electrum from the correct site, verify its signature before install and obviously make sure the computer you are working on is free from malware, since the private key will be exposed (i.e. visible) and whoever has it can spend your funds.

Now back to pruning. I've found a pretty good documentation you may want to read, it's here: https://coinguides.org/bitcoin-blockchain-pruning/

If you want to "shortcut", then locate your exe file and run it with -prune parameter, like
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -prune=550
or if you're in that folder
bitcoin-qt.exe -prune=550

Thank you for answer now it start to make sense

But i dont understand: ,,Keep in mind that pruning still downloads all those 300GB (minus what you already have), hence it's still slow.,, - what is purpose of pruning then?

I only have about 200 gb of space or can I use external hdd?

Pretty sure you can also use an external HDD if you just specify core to use that folder, (I believe datadir="" should do the trick)

but pruning is meant simply for saving space, nothing else. so prune=550 means you'll only keep 550 mb worth of blocks, but you still verify every block.

It does come with a few disadvantages, since you don't have every block anymore you can't use stuff such as txindex=1 etc.

If you don't want to sync ~ half a year worth of data you can also do what hussein recommended, that is, run that command (export your private key), (if you don't trust us google yourself how to export the key of)
Code:
1Cb5Hk4FyY7wvTNkfZJCgdnCaj6tmgYh61

Then, download Electrum (Manually verify the download signature!), and import the private key, and your funds should show up!
(Edit: I'm not sure what your download speed is, but if it's relatively high you might as well just sync and see what happens before trying the above.

If you don't have the private key for 1Cb and it's not showing up in your blockchain.info wallet, it seems highly likely to me that something else has gone wrong, and that this is not just a syncing issue. (Clipboard malware, wrong copy-paste?)
^ Although, given that the funds haven't moved, I find this to be pretty unlikely too?!

Bitcoin core wallet basically trusts nobody.
This means that your wallet will still download the whole blockchain and verify it, but will save to HDD only the data it decides that you'll need for your wallet and transactions. (I am not sure it's an accurate definition, but it should give you an image) - as opposite to saving it all.
And that 550 tells the size it should use for the saved data (550 is the minimum, it's 550 MB).

I only have about 200 gb of space or can I use external hdd?

Well, go to the data directory, I gave you the link about it in a previous post.
And for the Blocks folder right-click, properties and see what's it current size. Make the difference and you'll find out more or less the size you need left. (Keep in mind that the 300GB I told you is a rough estimation, I don't know the current size, I don't have my core wallet synced for some while too).

Since your wallet was synced in 17.7.2020, the remaining 200GB from your HDD should easily be enough.

If the prune mode is enabled, only the last x blocks are kept in your HDD, so the size of data doesn't exceed a certain amount.

Assume that prune=550

Bitcoin core downloads the first block, second block, third block and ....
Once the size of data reaches 550 MB, the first block is removed from your HDD.

I think NeuroticFish' post makes sense.
Short and safest version: backup your wallet.dat, upgrade Bitcoin Core, enable pruning, download and verify 300 GB, and wait a few days for it to finish.

When done, you'll also have $27-ish worth of Forkcoins, but only chase them after your Bitcoin wallet is empty because of the risks involved. If you have more old Bitcoin funds, you'll have more Forkcoins too.

Hi!

Thank you for help and explanation of how prune works!

Seems like everything working good

...But: Its been exactly 20 days when I start to download whole blockchain (its not downloading 24/7 but minimum 15 hours everyday and 24 hours during weekends) and Iam only on 44,44 % and its goes very very slow.

I think its because of old hdd and small amount of ram (only 4 gb)?

Can I simply copy wallet.dat from old pc to my iMac (with SSD and 12 gb of ram) to make the process faster?

Or its not that easy?

Thanx in advance

Hi
The things that may have impact on the speed are the internet connection speed, the memory/RAM and the disk too. (Still it took longer than I thought.)

From what I know moving wallet.dat should work, as long as you are certain Bitcoin Core is stopped on both machines when you do this.
But please keep in mind that the whole process will start from 0 on the new device, although with the new machine specs it should end faster than the old.

I'll repost this link for where to find and where to put wallet.dat : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory

Good luck!

I think its because of old hdd and small amount of ram (only 4 gb)?

Can I simply copy wallet.dat from old pc to my iMac (with SSD and 12 gb of ram) to make the process faster?
If you decided to do that, you should increase the database cache of Bitcoin core in your iMac to about 6GB to further increase the sync speed.
The option is in "Settings->Options->Size of database cache" just below 'prune', setting it to 5722 should provide significant sync speed boost.
You need to restart Core for the changes to take effect.

Mac's have that weird "one title bar for everything" approach... so it won't be on the panel that shows "summary, send, receive, transaction"... you need to look at the title bar at the very top of the desktop... (next to the "Apple" menu? it's been a while since I used a mac Tongue)

There you should find the "File", "Settings", "Window", "Help" menus displayed...
