My father bought 2 bitcoin back in 2017 and supposedly put onto a multibit hd wallet! He has the word phrases and I am confident that they are right as he is a very precise person. I have imported the wallet address into electrum and also bitcoin wallet but they show no transactions.
Double check that the addresses that have been created in Electrum start with a "1"... if they don't, then you've selected the wrong script type when restoring the wallet. Make sure that you select "Legacy (p2pkh)" and then set the derivation path as: m/0'
If they do start with a "1"... and you had the derivation path selected correctly... and there is no history showing in Electrum, then unfortunately it would appear that your father has a "valid" recovery phrase, but not the one that was for the wallet where he received the coins.
Note that MultibitHD allowed a user to create multiple wallet files. So, if your father has no other seed phrases, I would suggest taking BitMaxz's advice and looking for mbhd.wallet.aes files in the "C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\MultiBitHD" folder.
