Been scammed twice in a row

It really depends most of the active users on this board are legit if you are looking to buy used hardware, still have to perform due diligence and whatnot. Apart from that there are obviously the manufacturers and distributors of new hardware. What are you looking for in particular? Post the details and you stand a much better chance.

I'm surprised to see somone with such tenure in crypto be a victim of a 3rd party scam. Twice.

Heres some advice, be very weary of noob accounts.
Ask us here what sites to purchase from.
If a threads locked its risky. Newbie accounts are risky.
Use escrow!

Could you share the links /store that you used ? It would be nice to have a backlog of this kind of scenarios to prevent it from happening (I know it doesn't stop scammers of creating another store/page, but at least we give them work to do ).

Have to reported these incidents in the "Scam Accusations" section yet? At least those users could be marked with a flag and a negative tag to prevent others from getting scammed. You are pretty old user of this forum and you ought to know about such things by now. However I know that the "Mining" groups are more active in their own sections and rarely venture out so I can see the problem.

There are a lot of legit sellers in the "Computer Hardware" section of the forum, but the rules of thumb are to use an escrow for mediating the trade and dealing with a user who has a good amount of previous trades done.

Also, do not use Telegram for carrying out trades, it is full of scammers impersonating well reputed users of this forum who are not on Telegram and these will lead to scams.

It seems that the scams were elaborate enough to be able to scam this legendary two times, can't blame them especially escrows are not that perfect of system for online transactions, you can send the boxes without the actual items, everything is possible if you are determined enough to do it.
