I was looking for some information of a forum user. I had searched with his forum username to find his existence in the internet. And on the first page, I found this website- https://bitcointalksearch.org
What's this? Is it a phishing clone site of bitcointalk.org?

By the content and the looks of it its a clone, whether a phishing or not, don't ever use the website to login using bitcointalk's login details.

It mirrors Bitcointalk's content. I would never go to such a site, they can easily replace the posts with something else and that includes addresses contained within the post. I'll be wary of such mirror sites. It's poorly formatted, not sure why anyone would use that.

There were several mirror sites but this is interesting as it has it's login disabled.

I've seen a lot of bitcointalk clone sites like this and most all of them are just phishing sites to hack accounts in our forum. I remember visiting something similar to the bitcointalk.org domain and obviously a clone of bitcointalk because it just copies everything of the UI, I think it's bitcointalk.com or something like that.

To be safe I'm just not gonna log-in to any of these websites unless I know that it's a different and legitimate forum.

There’s a locked thread from last October about the site: Duplicate of Bitcointalk.

It had no login back then, and still does not have it now, meaning that all the browsing is performed as a guest. Nevertheless, that could be changed at any point in time, and user credentials could be stored for whatever purpose, so it does have potential risk, whatever the intentions.

Functionally, it seems to want to play around with search alternatives, and reduces functionality such as hiding signatures and minimizing the menu. It could be someone’s training ground for scraping, or a latent site for phishing.

that clone has a delay as the recent posts do not appear with me and this topic does not appear on this site in addition to the merits.
Take it seriously as they can see your IP address and search for some browsers or your personal page, they may be able to find out your IP address.
They can also hack your account (Social engineering)

All these issues disappear if you practice online security.

I use a 15+ random character password that I change annually on each crypto site.  I can't remember them so I use Lastpass - a free password manager (although I pay for additional features).  If I accidently visit a phishing site like this, it does not fill in my username/password.  I have to manually force the tool to enter the password, which makes me stop and go hmmmmmm.
