I saw cheap deals on alibaba. Too cheap actually. Most of the time you have to buy in large numbers but few dealers also offer minimum quantity like 1 or 2 pieces. Are they legit? What if I pay and they scam? Will I get money back from that scammer through alibaba?

There are protection programs and be sure to use visa and the protection program. You should be okay.

Don't buy 100 cards be smart and buy a few it will be easier to get the protection program.

has anyone actually done that? I've thought of trying a "cheap" such rig and risk 2k USD to see if this would work..

can anyone confirm, if the protection program would be okay and return my money in case the GPUs are total scam? I haven't bought anything so far from these sites and I am a bit sceptical in relation to tech buying from there xd

some of them are real and some of them are fake. there is video about people who been victims of scam on youtube i dont remember the name search it. if price too good it is fake and never accept paying with crypto.

Basically it looked like some "GTX 970" and when you installed the drivers it was detected as an "GTX 970" however he noticed that it was slower than his older GPU. Basically after wasting hours and hours of testing and everything, he finally asked in some computer hardware forum like (Toms hardware or anandtech or something) and they told him its a fake GPU.

Well the GPU is not fake, it actually works and everything however its not a high end GTX 970 but some lesser model. He contacted the company and they actually send him a refund and let him keep the GPU. Basically they do this because some people are not too tech savvy to figure out that they got a fake.

Its like somebody who buys a Ferrari with a Kia engine on the inside. Some drivers might never take it to the track to find out it has no power and they just keep the purchase while other finds out something is wrong and request a refund.

He can't tell the difference that's why he got scammed, on alibaba there are many chinese graphic cards with different makers like yeston, you can't compared such graphic cards with MSI, gigabyte, Asus etc, few other graphics card on alibaba don't even have names

It can`t be much cheaper than the medium market price. No one will sell GPU at the pumptime cheap. But a lot of cheaters are ready to get your money this time. As for me - i`d preferred to pay some more but to get GPU then to my money to a cheater.

It isn't all scam, but depends on who you buy from and if it will actually arrive or not. Like others said, buy from official sellers. You might also get off branded or generic GPUs for sale, but the build quality might be shit. Make sure you read the specs of the cards.

It's all about know the best brand to buy and the safest sellers to buy from, you can start off by reading reviews of verified buyers on the graphic card page you are trying to buy from, the products that have many good reviews are the best you can buy, stay away from yeston gpus, it works very well but have heat issues, I trust colorful the most

I heard so many good reviews about this Maxsun brand GPUs, it seems they are very knew in the market and still finding good customers and consumers, I'm guessing that's why they have discount price on their website, I will try and look into this brand later

You should be able to tell the difference when shopping online on alibaba and aliexpress, there are info about how many quantities of item a seller have sold successfully and there are many comments available from verified buyers too, also make sure you buy popular brands

Thing about this, new brands want to get popular too, to get higher numbers of buyers they introduce discounts that's why chinese brands are not bad either, I remember when colorful brand got released they did many discount sales too, Maxsun is also a strong brand too and their discount sales is still out

Nvidia and AMD's are model maker, manufacturers. They produce the chips and processors for the cards. And Asus, gigabyte, msi, zotac, evga etc are brands. They get cards from manufacturers and use their own specs, design and branding the product. They dont manufacture the built. If you own a company and have good brand value, may be you can order thousands unit of cards and can do your own marketing.

Well said @Malikbaba and the truth is some brands are better than the others, in china there are many fake brands with no name, meaning no brand company, I don't know how they build such GPU without getting arrested for it, if it's a RX5700 it's going to be RX5700 only, no brand name like Asus or msi, people need to be more careful

China is Resourceful. they have cheap worker and they are hard working too. They can produce in Bulk amount and their production cost is Low. They can produce GPUs, honestly. And Global giant brands are making huge profit from each unit. I personally order fish food from china and I buy at low price. And Amazon, ebay sale those products and price is 3 times higher. But if the price is too  good , may be they are fake.
