Hey guys,

My buddy and I have been working on a project recently to pack gridseeds into a rackmount case. We are completing our prototype so I thought I'd share with everyone. Our goal is to sell these as "boutique" or "Wife friendly miners".

Not sure why pictures aren't showing up but here is a link to the album:

Custom mdf to help with cable management.

Everything together.....

So onto the specs:

8 gridseeds hashing at 2.8mh/s - 3.4mh/s depending on overclock.

1x PCDUINO...
We chose the PC duino not only because of its more powerful processor and double RAM but also that the ROM we are using is all on board so there is no card reader as a failure point. We also include a custom version of scrypta for the interface (doing some cool stuff right this second so I'll post some screen shots soon).

Custom made cables... good gauge, heatshrink, nice barrel connectors, sleeved... etc.

350watt PSU... not 80+... but these things are only drawing 61watts total so I don't imagine the 80 plus would save you more than a watt or two.

Let me know what you think... or if you have any suggestions to make this thing better.

Tip them over, stack them from front to back in the case.

Have a couple fans in the front pushing air through the case - will be plenty fine cooling.

At this point (with the 5-cell units) its all about your density.. With the new boards comming out soon it.. density is what you are looking for Smiley

We have experimented with that setup but the 2U is not tall enough for this. So yes density is the name of the game but if you are using a 4U you really have not gained any density per rackspace over the 2U. Which we can get 10 units as shown with right angle  power and usb cables.

It depends on your xtra rack spaces and preference. We can certainly do the "sideways double stack method, jut not in 2U.
