Did not press receive on an address before payment sent

Hi, I was using an Electrum wallet to receive payment and stupidly did not press save after copying and sending the receiving address. If the payment was already sent to that address before I pressed save would it just bounce or would it work its way through the system after I saved the receive payment (24hrs after the person said that they'd pay!?

Just asking as following up on the payment for a resend is a bit onerous task. Thanks in advance

All the addresses displayed are generated with your 12 word seed. Pressing receive would just generate an invoice that's tied to your wallet. You should still be able to see and spend the funds sent to that address.

Transactions cannot bounce as there is no system to record whether a button is pressed or not. The reason why the receive tab exist is to have an UI for the user to create an invoice. If you were to check the addresses tab, you should still be able to see the address in the list.

as long as you send it to the correct receiver address there won't be any problem with it, you should not think of anything else, you should worry if the address is wrong because you might lose everything you send if it's not the correct address.

There is not need of saving addresses, only what is important to be saved which supposed to be saved offline is either the seed, private key or the seed phrase, all these can generate your wallet addresses for you, that is why in electrum wallet, you will be instructed to backup your seed phrase. So far you sent the correct address to the sender, while the sender sent bitcoin to the correct address, you will see your bitcoin when the transaction is confirmed.
