Hi,

I am struggling with a situation when I have small BTC amount in Electrum that just became not so small in fiat. Whenever I try to send the BTC out I am getting "List index out of range" message and that closes the process. In prior step (Confirm Transaction) I can enter Advanced mode where there options of merging transactions or signatutures. I am not proficient enough in BTC to solve it on my own. It's 0.009 BTC (about USD 350 as of now) so I offer 10% of that to the first person who helps me out. For clarity sake the 10% goes to the author of first reply to this post that will provide workable solution like being able to transfer locked BTC to other account.

Can you provide mire information?

When you click advanced does a screen pop up? Can you click sign and does that work?

When I click Advanced the screen pops up. Transaction ID at the top is "Unknown." There are Input and Output windows and Finalize and Close buttons. When I click Finalize Transaction window pops up also with Input and Output windows and two active buttons, Combine and Close. When I press Combine there are two options, Merge signatures form and Join inputs/outputs. I have not been able to get any further than that as I do not know what to do next following clicking either Merge or Join.

You don't have to care of that combobox about signatures.
You have to click Sign. Then click Broadcast.

If this doesn't work, try to make a new wallet from the seed and try to send the transaction again. There's a chance that something is incorrect in the wallet file (I am not convinced, but it should not crash...)

The Seed option is greyed out as I most likely imported private key.

So I describe live what happens:
1. I enter my other address in Pay to
2. I click Max
3. Out of three buttons Clear, Save and Pay I click Pay
4. Confirm Transaction window pops up. It has Advanced button, Fee rate button (set to Static, middle of the range), Password window, and Cancel and Send buttons.
5. I enter password and click Send
6. Error window pops up saying "list index out of range". There is only OK button.
7. I click OK and it gets me back to point 4 where I can enter Advanced
8. I click Advanced and there are only Finalize and Close buttons at the bottom. As written in previous post Under Transaction ID it says Unknown. There is also Block height button with 666049 height next to it. Replace by fee checkbox above is checked. Above the check box it says Size 192 bytes.
9. I click Finalize button and this gets me Transaction window with three active buttons, Export, Combine and Close. Save, Sign and Broadcast are greyed out.
10. That's where it ends;

What does the top of your appp say is it "imported wallet", "watching only", "standard wallet"?

On the title bar of your Electrum app, does it say "[imported]":



or does it say "[imported, watching-only]"? Huh:



Also, what version of Electrum are you using? Is it 4.0.9? Huh

Do you still have the private key of your address(es)? If not, try to export the private key using the right-click option in the address tab "View->Show addresses".
If you've successfully extracted the key (don't post it), just open your other wallet (recipient) and use "Wallet->Private key->Sweep" to automatically send the fund to that wallet.

If you cannot extract the key, there might be something wrong with the wallet file or Electrum installation.
Try to enable logging in "Tools->Preferences->General tab->Write logs to file", restart Electrum then reproduce the issue.
You can find the logs in "%appdata%/electrum/logs" or your OS' data dir (info) and open 'logs' folder.
Find something that describes the error; Don't forget to disable logging after.

try recreating the wallet using the private key. file > new/restore and enter unique filename and click ok, select "import bitcoin addresses or private keys" , paste in private key and follow on-screen instructions for the rest. then see if you can spend the coins. if you can't then file a bug report on github because this is a problem for the developers not us:
