I understand what your going through, especially with the fact that it isn't your thing until you got here. It's almost like that for everyone at some point until its not. All you've got to do is keep coming back and more regularly too. Should you need more clarification on any aspect of what your reading in the articles, quoting would be a good way to go and just try to make sense out of what you read by visualizing it if possible. You must be very humble, but I think that after reading so much support you should develop more confidence in yourself.
There is nothing paid on the forum to be afraid of losing something in terms of finance. Before you decide to invest somewhere, the right move would be to get some knowledge of how to do it right. And simply by reading and communicating, you do not lose, but gain. Don't listen to anyone who says the forum is very harsh on newbies. Be yourself. Don't try to look experienced if you don't know what you're talking about. But also ask whatever you care about. Someday you will be able to help someone with advice.

What a fantastic list of downloadable PDF books. There are some there I havent seen before.

An interesting one for newcomers is "Essays on Bitcoin", easy to read essays explaining how it works.
Definitely worth reading, the opening story about the demise of Whaling and the  invention of
Kerosene and how those events are compared to Bitcoin.

Also another interesting avenue for newcomers is youtube, there is a very interesting documentary
from 2014 below, well worth a watch, or 2.

Someone requested a permission to enter my gmail account. If I remember it correctly, I previously configured the accessibility to my PDF's due to an issue of unethical distribution of digital copies. I became guilty when someone quoted me regarding this issue so I decided to close it from the public. But then I appreciate you quoting my list.

As for OP, I think the only reason why you are currently experiencing fear is because of lack of knowledge when it comes to a certain to pic and obviously just like what everyone has mentioned, the only thing you can do to reduce your fear in getting your feet wet is by educating and consuming cryptocurrency resources as much as you can. I could not find a better advice other than a passion to learn something that will add value to yourself.

Furthermore, since these eBooks are restricted, I will instead drop the resources that I personally read on a daily basis.

Also as a newbie, I can understand why you are afraid.Because of the unfamiliarness of a lot of their own knowledge, it is like the strangeness of a person who is completely unfamiliar when entering another world.
Only by constantly enriching yourself and exercising yourself can you quickly integrate into this forum. Don’t be afraid, everyone here will help you.

You don't need to just solely rely on the forum, use other online platforms to educate yourself, you can even use other forums to gain more information.

Hi guys

I've been here a while now, lets say four months and i sadly i barely contribute not because i haven't been visiting the forum or reading a few posts but, i'm having trouble understanding most of the things i read. Bitcoin hasn't been my thing but i want to make it my thing and its proving extremely difficult. Especially in a forum such as this where the rules are really strict and your not allowed to re-register after a previous ban.

I'm just scared of making mistakes but if i don't participate, i'm likely to go nowhere in my journey here. Please help, i need to kill this phobia that stands guard to my progress. Pointing me to the right direction would be a way to start and i hope i follow anyway as that's a major challenge.

You don't have to be afraid, it's like we are having a conversation here, but to be able to sustain a conversation you must be knowledgeable about the subjects being talked about, so start reading and watch a lot of subjects that being talked about here and you will be comfortable and will enjoy the conversation and discussion here, of course you will also learn a lot.

In addition to the idea that we are here to make conversations, we are also here to learn and part of learning is asking questions. If you do not really understand something, go ahead and ask. There's no shame in that. Like a quote I have read before and shared to my students, I would like to share this with you: "Do not be afraid of asking questions. Be afraid of not knowing the answer."

It's very encouraging seeing how willing members of this forum are ready to offer a piece of knowledge to a determined newbie, putting the batten into the beginners hands as a test of how willing they are to learn. With the replies i see here from a single cry for help on understanding, only a lazy person who is not willing to put in effort no matter how small could fail in this community. Now i see how huge my job is and how simple i can go about it, i hope i don't lazy about it and same goes to those in my shoes, unseriousness and lack of determination is the real barrier.
