Another year, another 4 figure Ethereum is currently playing out, just $100 or so dollars from all time high. But what investments will perform better in 2021; Ethereum and further 2.0 launch with 1.8 billion Ether locked in staking, or DeFi projects with their locked markets cap of currently 6.6 million Ether?

I think ETH will do very well, but I have a suspicion that certain DeFi projects will out perform eventually, even if dump much further in the next bear market in a year or so. Personally I hope to accumulate more Ether for next year by investing in defi this year, knowing that some have 10-100x potential still,What do you think?

Defi is still having a lot of potential consider it's not yet mature like the ico project. Do you aware about the ico project that already generated more than 5000% ROI?
I see that with the goes of time and defi will be more mature.
Im also investing in some trusted defi right now and got very nice profit from there.

Few DeFi projects are still standing very tall and making some DeFi haters real jealous presently, but the truth is DeFi isn't that perfect right now, too many problems most especially about security, I do hope that this year things will be better for DeFi projects, make sure you choose the best of the best DeFi projects though

Seriously I just look at most DeFi projects as 2x opportunity or more, I don't plan on holding them too long because they can become successful or the opposite in no time, the only DeFi projects I respect is chainlink and very limited others, DeFi still have a long way to go, a fully decentralized platforms that have no real solution for security but not all of them

Ethereum of course unless there's DeFi 2.0 Grin Just kidding aside but I think the question you asked was too broad since we're talking on DeFi projects when in fact most DeFi came from Ethereum and others that just popping up lately are from other blockchains. I think it's much clearer and most suitable to be compared if it's Ethereum or Polkadot DeFi projects. Just my two cents.

Indeed, de-fi sector has a large potential at this time. But I’m pretty sure that ETH will be bullish too this year, it’s definitely. In case, if you are looking for something interesting around de-fi projects, I could suggest you to take a look at such project as https://peakdefi.com. Their APY is up to 85%, sounds good for me. As well, they are audited by Quantstamp and already announced about listing on huge exchanges, so I’m paying my attention on them. You can also find Bluzelle, but it seems that they are already filled with investments. Still interesting though.

In some sense you are quite right, but we all should remember that lots of DeFi projects are very closely connected with the Ethereum, even the Polkadot itself. And the amount they collect or in case you want to invest into some project on Polkadot you do it in the Eth. So DeFi and Ethereum are very closely connected with each other)

I stay focused on the proven ethereum for years. for a good deFI project, but keep in mind if there is a current deFI project that has no potential and is a scam, you should try to do some research before choosing a deFI project so you can still get what you want from deFI

I am expecting the price to go down eventually, right now the price is rallying and it reached its all time high valuation which i thought would take a much longer time but the major problem with them is that the transaction charges are really high and their ETH 2.0 upgrade is said to sort the issues and in a few months we are expecting the transaction charges to down and if that does not succeed then it will not be that great.

I read in an article that DeFi apps don't need intermediaries or arbitrators. The code determines the resolution of any disputes that may occur, and users are in control of their funds at all times. This reduces the costs associated with providing and using the product and allows for a more independent financial system.

this seems to ease us in managing the assets we have, but it does need some more research whether this will be a scam or an advantage for us

If you asked for some weak altcoin vs Defi then my suggestion would surely be Defi but there is no comparison of Eth with any other thing less Bitcoin. In my opinion you should go for 80/20, 80% in  Eth while 20% in Defi.

Most of the DeFi are not potential and they have no future plan. Ethereum is always okay to invest and it has a great future. A large amount of altcoin is depending on ethereum. Try to avoid DeFi and choose ethereum for a better future.

It's not either/or. Ethereum is a major part in DeFi ecosystem, and with rise in price of one, the other will surely follow.
Lets just disclose that we're talking about established DeFi projects, not meme crap on BSC

I believe that there will be many projects that do excellent performances not strictly related to DeFi, I think that the new generations will be able to manage wallets and crypto much more autonomously so projects that aim to solve accessibility will certainly be successful, projects that deal with videogames I believe that they will be an excellent investment.
The projects that are listed on Uniswap are too risky. #DYOR

Defi projects are not yet trusted that is the challenge for them. But etheruem any day is trusted and the choice of many investors. For me I will not put all my investment down ondefi  but I can do that with etheruem.

With the current ETH gas fee that is far above the traditional charge of transactions, ETH 2.0 not at sight, and the limitation of speed that always causes congestion in the network, DeFi will outperform ETH in this current year until the above are addressed.

Many DEFI projects run on the Ethereum platform. Therefore, it seems to me that without the development of ETH, the existence of DEFI is simply impossible. In the future, everything can change dramatically, the development of decentralized projects does not stand still. We see new startups every day that can change the entire system. But Ethereum, in my opinion, will remain the first, leading founder of all DEFI applications and projects.

Now many have anxious doubts about the full-fledged work of ETH, but I think that soon everything will change.

I have the opposite opinion. Ethereum 2.0 also hurts miners and if a project doesnt have support miners market cap will always be low.

I would split invest. Buy Ethereum and also buy Ethereum DeFi products because we can assume at a high possibility to see Uniswap and YearnFinance still very fomous a few years later. Uniswap and YearnFinance are intial products of DeFi.
